OPErATINg INSTruCTIONS
4. Set both halves of the "U" Handle so
they are even and in a comfortable
working position.
5. Tighten the 4 screws on the handle
mounting plate to secure handle in
place.
ATTACHING THE GRASS GUARD (Fig. 4)

WArNINg
Never operate unit without the guard in place.
1. Remove the four screws from the grass
guard.
2. Align the screw holes in the
mounting bracket with the screw holes
in the grass guard.

3. Insert screws through the mounting
bracket and into the grass guard.
4. Tighten screws securely.
The grass guard is equipped with a line
cut-off blade on the grass guard. If you wish
to use the nylon head, mount the small black
blade to the grass guard, using the screw
provided. If you wish to use the 10" 3-tooth
steel blade, remove the small black blade
from the grass guard.

IMPOrTANT
Harness must be used with belt on the left
shoulder and the hip protection pad on the
right side.
1. Connect the latch on the shoulder har-
ness to the strap hanger.

2. Adjust the strap to a comfortable
position.

bALANCINg THE bruSH CuTTEr

Before using the Brush Cutter, you must
adjust the harness as follows:
1. Loosen the harness hook.
2. Place the belt on your left shoulder and
hook it to the machine.

3. Adjust the position of the harness hook
bracket
on the shaft until the unit balances with
the cutting attachment approximately
100 to 300 mm (3.9" to 11.8") from the
ground.

1. Place the hollow flanged washer on the
gear head shaft.
NOTE: The hollow side of the flanged washer
should face the gear head.
2. Align the slot in the hollow flanged
washer with the slot in the gear head.
3. Place the gear head locking tool or a
screwdriver through the slot in the hollow
flanged washer and gear head.
4. Install the string head assembly onto the
gear head shaft by turning it
counter-clockwise.
5. Tighten the string head assembly
securely.
