Evaluation of the LCD
The following conditions must be observed when analy-
zing the TFT LCD for the maximum permissible number
of dot errors.
1. Testing conditions
Ambient light:
Ambient temperature: 15 °C – 25 °C
Viewing distance:
Viewing angle:
Examination:
2. Preparations before testing
Connect the device to the operating voltage and,
using a pattern generator, send red, green, blue, black
and white images alternately at a level of 1 Vpp to the
video input.
3. Evaluation of the entire picture area
The following are permissible:
3 bright dots
3 black dots
Total max. 5 dots
Of these, 1 dot pair is permitted to be adjacent to one
another.
4. Cleaning the LCD screen
Use a soft cloth to clean the LCD screen.
You must not use any hard materials or ones that
would cause scratches.
You must not exert any pressure on the LCD surface.
You must not use cleaning solutions.
Under no circumstances must any liquids be
permitted to enter the device.
