Do not use BRK 820 masks (models 1-4) for filtering systems if the pollutants are un-
known.
The masks can be used without any risk in environments which are rich in oxygen,
explosive and /or flammable substances. A possible risk may arise if these are used with
other PPE which are not suitable for use in these environments.
When the dangers are such that, besides the protection of the respiratory tract, the use
of other protective equipment is also required, one must confirm the compatibility of this
equipment with the masks. The use of other PPE (hearing protectors, head protectors,
limb protectors, etc.) should lower the effectiveness of the PPE for the respiratory tract.
Always do a trial fitting before actual use.
In cases where the mask is used in the presence of particularly aggressive liquid
chemical agents, always confirm the compatibility of the mask with such chemicals
prior to use.

Use
3.1
Putting on the mask
Pull the straps of the headpiece to their maximum
length by releasing the adjustment buckles. Support
the temporal and side straps of the headpiece with
both hands, while at the same time widening them
so that you may be able to insert your face into the
facemask. Once you have placed your chin on the
appropriate resting place, pass the headpiece over
your head, placing it in such a way that its straps are
placed in the direction of the buckles of the facemask
(fig. 1). The harness should be adjusted in such a
way you can feel a uniform pressure the sealing edge
of the mask on your face. The buckles will automati-
cally lock in the desired position. It is recommended
to first pull the pad straps, then those on the tempo-
ral area and finally the frontal ones (fig. 2, 3, 4). To
remove the mask, release the tension of the straps by
slightly lifting the clasps of the buckles, this will allow
the straps to slide back (fig. 5). Remove the mask
from your chin and then lift it off your head.
3.2
How to check the pneumatic seal
Before entering a contaminated environment, it is necessary to check the seal of the
facemask on the face as well as that of the exhalation valve. Once you have put on the
mask, close the connector with the palm of your hand and inhale deeply (fig. 6), so that
the mask may adhere to your face. There should be no infiltration of air in any part of the
mask. The seal check should be carried out 2/3 times.
