• position the hand-held core drill into the collar. Be sure
that the axis of the core drill motor spindle is parallel to the
drill stand column;
• tight the two screws of the collar, making sure that the
core drill is secure.
Rapid lock plate mounting (fig.11)
Proceed as follows:
• dismount the Rapid lock plate (Q) from the collar (P);
• lock the carriage using the locking system (O);
• position the plate square key into the slot on the
underside of the core drill motor. Secure the plate by
tightening at least 4 screws.
• position the core drill motor on the carriage as shown in
the pictures;
• secure the motor by tightening the two side-screws (R)
with the feed handle.
• To dismantle the plate follow backwards the steps before,
making sure that you hold the motor when you loose the
side-screws to prevent that it drops off.
3.6. Mounting the motor on the reverse side
of the stand (fig.12 and 13)
Two different configurations are available as regards the
position of the drill unit respect the main base of the stand.
You can reverse the mounting of the upper column. With
this option the drill unit position is frontward and you can
move closer to the wall.
In picture 12 the two configurations are illustrated. On the
left, the standard configuration with the machine just above
the base, on the right the second configuration with the drill
unit placed on the front side.
Proceed as follows:
1. Always lay down the drill stand to the floor before
proceeding (fig.13a);
2. pull out the upper column from the lower one (figure
13b);
3. rotate the upper column to an angle of 180° (fig. 13c)
4. slip the upper column on the lower one (fig. 13d)
3.7. Changing the side of the mounting of the
cam (fig.14)
When, setting up your drill stand, you find that the cam
lever cannot be easily actuated due to for example the
vicinity of the wall, you can decide also to change the
mounting side of the cam mechanism. In this case a
suitable wrench for the M10 screw is needed. As you can
see in the pictures,
remove the two screws and washers that retains the
cam;
reallign the cam holes with the two holes on the other
side of the column;
put in again the two screws and the washers;
tight the M10 screws.
3.8. Handling of the drill stand (fig.15)
Warning: do not leave your drill stand in vertical
position if not fixed. When not in use lay the
down the stand horizontally. Due to the height of
the column the stand is subjected to the risk of
overturn. Slight hits or uneven floor can provoke
unbalancing.
To securely transport your drill stand and avoid that the
upper column slips off, you must hook together the two
columns.
Proceed as follows:
• place the upper column in the lower position;
rotate the cam handle fully downward: in this way the
handle embraces the collar acting as a hooking.
3.9. Instructions for drilling
Proceed as follows:
fix the drill stand as described in paragraph 3.2;
Warning: always ensure that the fastening mode
is suitable for the application and that the stand is
securely fastened;
mount the feed handle (I) according to the paragraph
Feed handle;
mount the core drill motor according to the instructions
in the "Mounting the core drill motor on the stand"
paragraph. See paragraph "Maximum drilling diameter and
core drill motor limitations";
mount the diamond core bit to the drill motor;
in case you need to use water for drilling, always mount
the water collection system (available as optional);
in case of dry drilling, always use a dust collection
system suitable for your core drill motor.
Warning: before starting the motor ensure that
all bolts and screw are securely tightened.
switch the motor on, applying light pressure and drill
about 1 cm deep into the workpiece. This allows core bit
centring preventing core bit side shifting;
after this, apply sufficient pressure to achieve smooth
progressive drilling;
Warning: use large and stable platform or stair
when you need to work raised from the floor
level. Unexpected reaction of the drill system
may expose you to the risk of loosing balance.
• after finishing to use the drill stand remember to detach
the drill motor from it and to arrange the upper column in
the lower position as described in paragraph 3.8 and place
finally
the
stand
