The ST2R1 transformer speed controllers are based on the prin-
ciple of voltage control with auto-transformers. They are appli-
cable to voltage-controllable motors (230 V, 50/60 Hz) to control
the rotational speed (of fans, pumps, etc.).
With the built-in clock these transformer controllers can work
completely autonomously. When commissioning, two speeds
(High and Low) can be selected out of 80-100-120-150-170-190-
230 V. These High and Low speed operation time ranges can be
set in the clock together with a range of motor stops (day/week
program). This permits a perfect day/night control.
Mounting
The controllers are to be mounted vertically on a smooth sur-
face. Connect voltage supply, motor(s) and earth as shown in
the scheme with cables of the proper diameter and in accord-
ance with local regulations. On the mains side, a safety switch
with recommended pre-fuses has to be installed.

Operation modes
The ST2R controller has four basic modes. Each mode is displa-
yed on the LCD.
• STAND-BY: motor is not working (due to clock setting)
• STOPPED: motor is not working (controller is stopped by
pressing I/O button or TK alarm condition occurred)
• AUTO: motor speed depends on clock setting (High mode/
Low mode/Standby)
• HAND SETTING: controller enters High mode by pressing
UP button and Low mode by pressing DOWN button.
There are two ways of changing the mode:
• due to clock setting

Modes changing (keypad is locked)
When powered, the controller enters AUTO mode. In this mode
the user can enter HAND SETTING mode by pushing A/M but-
ton short or can enter Install menu by pushing the A/M button
for 3 seconds.
In HAND SETTING mode you can switch the controller in High
or Low Mode by pressing the UP or DOWN buttons. UP corre-
sponds to High Mode and DOWN corresponds to Low Mode. By
a single press of the A/M button the controller returns in AUTO
mode or when holding the A/M button for 3 seconds the user
can access the Installer menu.
The condition of the controller in AUTO mode depends on the
real time clock settings. By default these settings are:
High Set point
Low Set point
Standby (automati-
cally calculated)
User has the ability to change these predetermined values ei-
ther by changing them for the whole weekdays/weekends or
for a particular day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday ...). Also there
times from the mentioned above.
Alarm conditions
TK protection - alarm condition, declared with blinking message
on the LCD display "Motor High Temp, Check Motor" and Al out-
put is activated (230 Vac). When the problem is eliminated, the
user must press any button (except the AM button) for at least 5
seconds. Messages on the LCD lead the user through the steps
required for controller restart after TK detection. After accom-
plishing the last step, the controller enters STOPPED mode and
Al output is deactivated.
Other conditions
1. CC – room thermostat. At these terminals, external devices
can be connected which can stop and start the motor. Breaking
the control circuit stops the motor ("Standby CC" message is
