APPLICATION
The Coffee Maker Italiano 1.25L can be used to make
filter coffee.
FEATURES
The Coffee Maker Italiano is a filter coffee machine.
Its capacity is 1.25 l, which yields 10 large or 12
small cups of coffee.
The machine can be used with either regular 1x4
coffee filters or with the permanent filter included.
It features an on/off switch and a selection switch for
the hot plate.
Using the selection switch, the temperature of the
hot plate can be adjusted to "half" or "full".
The position "half" is used when only half a pot of
coffee (or less) is brewed.
This reduces the temperature a bit so that the coffee
does not become bitter.
This coffee machine is equipped with Dual Heating
Technology. This means there are two individual
heating elements: one to make coffee and one to keep
the coffee warm.
Most coffee machines integrate these two functions
in one heating element, which must be set at a
compromise, so neither of these functions is optimal.
Separating these heating functions allows the
technology to be adjusted for optimal taste, aroma
and temperature.
Refer to the diagram for the following parts:
1. On/off switch with indicator light.
2. Selection switch for the hot plate with the
settings "half" and "full".
3. 1x4 coffee filter (not included)
4. Permanent filter
5. Filter holder
6. Support ring with holes for attaching the filter
holder
7. Lugs for attaching the filter holder
8. 1.25 l glass pot
9. Dust lid for the water tank
FIRST USE
Check that all accessories are complete and the unit
is not damaged. Fill the water tank to the maximum
level on the water gauge and brew water several
times without coffee grounds, discarding the water
each time. Clean and dry all detachable parts

thoroughly according to the section "CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE".
USE
1. Open the lid and fill the water tank with cold
drinking water.
NOTE: Do not fill beyond the maximum mark on the
tank. The machine can make 10 large or 12 small
cups of coffee at a time.
2. Place the filter holder (5) at an angle on the
support ring (6) so that the lugs (7) fit into the
holes in the support ring.
3. Put a 1x4 coffee filter in the filter holder or place
the permanent filter.
4. Put ground coffee in the filter. As an indication,
use one level measuring spoon per 3 cups of
coffee. This can be adjusted according to taste.
5. Fill the water tank with the required amount of
water; see the measure marks on the water tank
and the glass pot.
6. Place the glass pot on het hot plate.
7. Select the desired hot plate setting with switch 2.
8. Plug in the appliance and power on with switch 1.
NOTE: The brewing process can be interrupted any
time by simply turning off the switch. The light will
then go out.
NOTE: The device is equipped with a so-called
pause-and-pour function. This means the pot can be
removed from the machine at any time during the
brewing process in order to pour a cup of coffee. If
you choose to do this, the brewing process won't
be interrupted and you won't spill a single drop of
coffee. Simply place the glass pot back on the hot
plate and the coffee will start to run again. Never
remove the glass pot for more than 30 seconds, and
also never place an empty pot on the hot plate while
it is still warm.
9. When the coffee brewing process is finished,
remove the glass pot from the hot plate.
NOTE: The amount of liquid coffee you end up with is
less than the amount of water you put into the water
tank, as the ground coffee also absorbs water.
WARNING: When pouring the coffee, make sure
not to hold the glass pot at an angle greater than
45 degrees relative to vertical. You should pour
the coffee slowly until the pot is empty. If this is
done too quickly, the coffee will gush against the
underside of the pot lid and over the edge of the pot,
which could result in burns.
10. After the machine has finished brewing the
coffee, it automatically switches to the heating
function, which will keep the coffee hot for up
to 40 minutes. After 40 minutes of heating, the
