4 Setting into Operation

1) Connect the XLR jack DMX-OUTPUT (14) to the
XLR connection DMX INPUT of the LE-504. (The
XLR jack has a latching. To pull out the plug, press
the PUSH lever.)
For the connection, special cables for high data
flow should be used. The use of standard micro-
phone cables can only be recommended for a total
cable length of up to 100 m. The best transmission
results are obtained with a screened microphone
cable of 2 x 0.25 mm
sion cable. For cable lengths exceeding 150 m it is
recommended to insert a DMX level matching
amplifier (e. g. SR-103DMX from "img Stage Line").
2) For synchronous operation of several units LE-504
by the control panel, connect the DMX output of the
first LE-504 to the DMX input of the next LE-504.
Connect its output again to the input of the following
unit etc., until all LE-504 units are connected in one
row.
3) Terminate the DMX output of the last DMX light
effect unit in the row with a 120 Ω resistor (> 0.3 W),
but also if only one LE-504 has been connected:
Solder the resistor to the pins 2 and 3 of an XLR
plug and connect the plug to the DMX output or use
a corresponding terminating plug (e. g. DLT-123
from "img Stage Line").
4) Connect the supplied power supply unit to the jack
DC INPUT (12) and the power supply unit to a
mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
5) Switch on the control panel with the POWER switch
(11). The red LED above the button HOLD (2) lights
up: The hold mode is switched on (see chapter 4.1).
6) Adjust the desired brightness of the light effect unit
with the control DIMMER (7).
7) After operation switch off the control panel with the
POWER switch. If it is not used for a longer period
of time, disconnect the power supply unit from the
mains socket because it has a low current con-
sumption even if the control panel is switched off.

4.1 Hold mode

After switching-on or pressing the button HOLD (2),
this mode is activated. With the buttons HOLD
COLOURS (1) 9 preset colours can be selected.
4.2 Chase mode
The colours continuously change in the chase mode.
1) Select this mode with the button CHASE (3). The
yellow LED above the button lights up.
2) Adjust the desired colours or the desired sequence
with the control CHASE/SPECTRUM MIX (5). The
left scale is decisive in this mode.

3) Adjust the speed of the colour change with the con-
trol CHASE SPEED/FADE TIME (6). Also in this
case the left scale is decisive.
4) The colours can also be changed by music control
via the integrated microphone. For this purpose
press the button SOUND (8) so that the green LED
above this button lights up. Turn up the volume at
the music system until the light effect unit reacts to
the music as desired.
Press the button SOUND again to switch off the
music control.

4.3 Spectrum mode

The spectrum mode allows to adjust 32 mixed colours
with the control CHASE/SPECTRUM MIX (5).
1) Press the button SPECTRUM MIX (4). The green
LED above the button lights up.
2) Adjust the desired colour with the control CHASE/
SPECTRUM MIX. The right scale is decisive in this
mode.
3) If the control CHASE/SPECTRUM MIX is com-
pletely at the bottom, the function Colour Fade is
adjusted. With this function the unit continuously
fades from one to the other lamp of the light effect
unit. The speed of the fading is adjusted with the
control CHASE SPEED/FADE TIME (6). In this
case the right scale is decisive.
4.4 Functions Blackout and Full On
With the button BLACKOUT (10) the connected light
effect unit can slowly be dimmed. The red LED above
the button lights up as a check. Press the button again
to terminate the function Blackout: The unit immedi-
ately switches back to the brightness adjusted with the
control DIMMER (7).
As long as the button FULL ON (9) is kept pressed,
all four lamps of the light effect unit are switched to
maximum brightness.
Note: If the control DIMMER is set completely up-
wards to maximum brightness, the brightness can of
course not be further increased with the button FULL
ON.
