ASSEMBLY:
The Vulcan must be operated with the grill in place.

The Vulcan can be mounted horizontally (pointing downwards) using a ceiling wire suspension kit or it can
be wall mounted and angled downwards using a wall bracket. Ceiling and wall mount versions are different
heaters and must be specified at the time of ordering.
In all situations, the Vulcan must be installed in a position to allow proper and efficient use, but one that
ensures hot parts cannot be touched or damaged accidentally. The minimum recommended installation
height is 3m from the floor, however, consideration should be given to any temporary or occasional
additions such as stages or platforms or people operating directly underneath and the height should be
adjusted accordingly. The minimum safe distance in front of the heater is 2m. Do not place any objects
within 2m in front of the heater.
Wall-Mounting
Push the lamps into position into the ceramic receptors in the front of the unit. The
spring-locking mechanism will hold the lamps in place.
Always fit the lamps wearing gloves and ensure no finger marks or other contaminants
are left on the bulbs before operation. Contaminants may cause hot spots and shorten
the life of the lamps.
Fit the grill in front of the lamps and secure in place using the collar and machine screws
supplied.

When mounted on a wall using the bracket
(purchased separately), the unit must not be placed
within 0.5m of the nearest ceiling.
The Herschel Vulcan should be firmly and
permanently attached using the bracket, which will
ensure the unit is spaced at the correct distance from
the wall allowing the correct downwards angle of the
unit.
