How to install the product

AXIS T8646 is designed to be installed into the following racks:
• AXIS 291 1U Video Server Rack
• AXIS Q7900 Rack
• AXIS Q7920 Video Encoder Chassis
Note
The rack supplies enough power for the blade to operate and support ethernet over coax.
To supply PoE+ over coax to the Compact or Device unit and camera, the blade needs an
extra power supply:
• AXIS T8082 supplies up to 4000 W.
• AXIS T8085 supplies up to 500 W.
1. To install the blade in the racks/chassis, follow the instructions in the Installation
Guide included with the racks/chassis. The installation guides are also available at
www.axis.com
2. To install the power supply, follow the instructions in the Installation Guide included
with the power supply. The installation guides are also available at www.axis.com
3. Connect the dc power cable from the power supply to the blade.
4. Install the AXIS T8642 PoE+ Over Coax Device or the AXIS T8643 PoE+ Over Coax
Compact. Follow the instructions in the Installation Guide for AXIS T864 Series Single
Channel, available at www.axis.com
