Measuring the dwell angle in percentage
Same connections as for the dwell angle in degrees
The dwell angle in percentage enables vehicles with unusual numbers of cylinders
to be tested
It can also be used to measure an injector opening time in percentage, or the
operating cycle of an Idle Speed Control valve in an electronic fuel injection system
At idle speed the injector pulse time will be between 1.5 and 2%
These figures increase with the progressive opening of the throttle valve and should
be checked against the vehicle specifications
