2.7 Burn-in

Burn-in specification:
Ball-bearings of NV motors need to be run before going at maximal speed. This process is required for
the grease to be spread and to maintain a working secure temperature and as low as possible. The
torque losses due to the grease in excess would decrease with time. The normal way of burn-in is to
increase the speed step by step, and wait for thermal stabilisation at each step. We can measure the
temperature on the housing close to the bearings. The recommended steps are 25%, 50%, 75% of full
speed.
The length of each step is depending on size and cooling of the motor (thermal dissipation by
front flange). Indicative time are:
NV3
3H
NV4,NV6
4H
NV8
12 H
Notice : Without burn-in, a NV motor would have a reduce lifetime and a higher operating
temperature.

2.8 Troubleshooting

Brushless servomotors PARVEX don't need preventive maintenance. The bearings have a double
protection and are life-greased.
Certain symptoms and their possible causes are listed below. This list is not comprehensive.
Whenever an operating incident occurs, consult the relevant servoamplifier installation instructions
(the troubleshooting display indications will help you in your investigation).
