5. CONTROL AND STARTING PROCEDURES
■ Carefully read the sections «
manual.
□ Always install the pump on a flat and stable floor.
5.1. PRIMING THE PUMP
Your pump is a self-priming pump. A self-priming pump raises the water by its own means into the
suction pipe by pumping the air therein. For self-priming to work, it is imperative to fill the pump body
with water before starting.
□ Never attempt to operate the pump without priming water or the pump will overheat.
□ Extended dry operation will destroy the pump seal.
□ If the pump has been operated dry, stop the engine immediatly and allow the pump to cool
before adding priming water.
Before starting the engine, make sure to fill the pump with water:
1.
Screw off the priming cap [Fig. 13];
2.
Fill the pump fully with clear water [Fig. 14];
3.
Rescrew the priming cap.
□ Don't screw off the priming cap during operation of the pump to avoid damaging the equipment
and injuring persons.
□ Never run the pump without priming water, which will cause the pump to overheat.
