There may still be some production residues on the device. To avoid harmful
effects to your health, clean the device before you fi rst use it (see the "Cleaning
and Storage" chapter).
1. Wipe down the device with a clean, damp cloth. Rinse off the grinding container (4)
and the lid (8) with a little mild detergent and clear water. Then dry them thoroughly.
2. Set up the device in a suitable location, following the safety instructions and the notes
provided at the beginning of this chapter.
3. Before you fi rst enjoy any freshly ground coffee beans, nuts, spices or salt, we
recommend that you carry out a trial run with one of the foodstuffs to remove any
possible production residues. To do this, follow the instructions in the "Handling and
Operation" chapter.
Caution! Do not use these chopped-up foodstuff s!
When the device is fi rst used, production-related additives may cause a slight odour
to be produced. This is normal and not a device defect.
4. Clean the device and accessories (see the "Cleaning and Storage" chapter).
Handling and Operation
NOTE
Always fi ll the grinding container suffi ciently but never overfi ll it (note the MIN
and MAX marking).
1. Remove the lid (8).
2. Pull the grinding container (4) out of the motor unit (2) by the handle (5) if necessary.
3. Fill the grinding container with the desired quantity of coffee beans. Do not overfi ll it!
Pay attention to the MIN and MAX markings on the grinding container.
Below you will fi nd a number of specifi ed amounts as a rough guide:
