How Your Solar Light Works
During the day, the solar panel converts sunlight into electricity and recharges the battery. At night, the light
turns on automatically with the electricity stored during the day. The number of hours the light stays on
depends on your geographical location, weather conditions and seasonal
lighting availability. Under normal conditions, if the light is charged in full sunlight for about 6 hours every day,
the light should then in turn last for 6-8 hours at night.
Choosing a Location
Choose an outdoor location in full direct sunlight where your solar light can receive at least 8 hours of sunlight
each day. Shadowed locations will not allow the batteries to charge fully and will reduce the hours of
nighttimes' lighting. The selected location should not be near nighttimes' sources of light such as porch lights
or streetlights as they may cause the solar light to turn off automatically. The solar light is ideal for night
lighting of garden, lawn, patio, paths or wherever accent lighting is needed.
Winter Tips
Keep snow and debris clear of the solar panel, so the battery can recharge efficiently. If the solar panels are
covered by snow or debris for an extended period of time, allow the battery to charge in full direct sunlight for
at least 6-8 hours.
For First Time Use
Do not push the power switch to the "ON" position until the solar light has been charged in full sunlight for 24
hours with the power switch in the "OFF" position. This allows the rechargeable battery to reach its maximum
capacity. If the light does not come on after 24 hours of charging, make sure the power switch is in the "ON"
position. Check the battery to ensure that it is making secure contact with the terminal. Be sure that the light is
in a bright sunny location and not in a shady area.
