6. TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
GUN DOES NOT SPRAY
Fluid adj. knob (16) closed.
Tip hole of nozzle obstructed.
Non drip obstructed.
INTERMITTENT SPRAY PATTERN
Air escapes from fluid nozzle (4).
Air escapes from fluid needle packing (7).
Air escapes from cup joint.
Dirty inside air cap set (1).
DEFECTIVE SPRAY PATTERN
Dirty nozzle (4) or air cap set (1).
Nozzle (4) or air cap (1) has been damaged. Replace if damaged.
Fluid nozzle (4) is loose.
Paint viscosity too high or too low.
Fluid output too high or too low.
LEAKING
Fluid nozzle (4), needle set (5) or gun body,
dirty, damaged or worn on seat.
Dirt inside air cap set (1).
Loose fluid adj. knob (16).
Fluid needle spring set (15) is worn.
Loose fluid nozzle set (4).
Needle packing set (7) loose, too tight, dirty
or worn.
AIR ESCAPES FROM AIR CAP
Air valve (12), air valve seat (10) or air valve
spring (13) dirty or damaged.
Air valve seat set "O"ring (10-1) damaged
or worn.
6.1 INSPECTION & REPLACEMENT STANDARD
WHERE TO INSPECT
a. Each hole passage of air cap
(1) and fluid nozzle (4).
b. Packing and O ring
c. Leakage from seat section
between fluid nozzle (4) and
fluid needle set (5).

them and confirm that there is no
leakage.
