Removing inner Disperser part from Hood
CAUTION
Take care not to tear the disperser pocket away from
the hood material when removing the inner part of the
disperser assembly from the hood.
3.
Wash the breathing hood in a solution made by mixing
a 2 oz. packet of North Catalog No. 80992 cleaner/sani-
tizer powder in one gallon of warm water (110-125°F).
After washing, rinse in clean water, shake off excess
water, and permit to air dry in a clean area.
Apply an anti-fog compound to the inside of the hood to
provide improved vision when the unit is to be used at
temperatures below 32°F
CAUTION
All apparatus parts must be completely dry before
reassembly and storage.
4.
Remove the cylinder from the carrying bag.
5.
Remove the pressure reducing valve from the cylinder
valve using a wrench on the flats of the nut. See
FIGURE 9.
NOTE
Removing Pressure Reducing Valve
6.
Examine all parts for signs of damage or wear, and
replace all parts which show such signs.
Major components which show evidence of damage
such as cylinders, hoses, hoods, and fittings must be
removed from service. Damaged components can
develop leaks and are unreliable.
7.
Recharge the air cylinder from a source of pure, res-
pirable compressed air conforming to the Compressed
Gas Association Specification G-7.1, Grade D, or better
quality. The air source must be equipped with a separate
metering valve to control fill rate. Refill using the follow-
ing procedures.
Stand the cylinder behind a steel enclosure.
Connect the filler hose to the cylinder valve and open
the valve fully by turning the handwheel counterclock-
wise. With the compressor running, adjust the metering
valve to allow the cylinder to fill slowly. When the gauge
reads FULL, shut off the compressor and close the filling
valve. Allow the cylinder to cool to room temperature
and repeat the filling process as many times as is nec-
essary to achieve full service pressure with the cylinder
at room temperature.
