B1 BravaDOS INSTALLATION

B1.1 First installation
Before the equipment installation please verify that the water supplied to the equipment fulfils the
requirements of European drinking water directives (Directive 98/83/CE). Check for the compliance of
the waterworks and the installation of the equipment to local regulations. The manufacturer disclaims all
responsibility for damage or injury caused by improper installation of the equipment and/or the installation of
the equipment in a waterworks not compliant with local regulations.
BravaDOS is not equipped with any flooding-control system or other devices able to detect or control water
losses in case of malfunction.
Do not install BravaDOS downstream of boilers or in hot water pipes (temperature higher than 30 °C). Install
BravaDOS upstream of boilers.
Do not use BravaDOS to treat closed loop water, closed loop heating systems, process water, sewer water
or any other applications not cited in this manual.
Do not install BravaDOS or any other equipment for polyphosphates dosage upstream of solar boilers or
water storage tanks where temperature could rise above 60 °C. The permanence ad high temperature
implies the rapid hydrolysis of polyphosphates with subsequent loss of protective properties.
B1.2 Requirements of the installation place
BravaDOS must be installed indoors in a dry and clean place, protected from frost, exposure to sunlight,
moisture, rain and snow. BravaDOS cannot be installed outdoors. Do not install BravaDOS in wells, near
drains, or in smelly or not cleaned places. Do not install where chemical vapours or gas and fumes may be
present. Avoid installation in tight spaces which cannot allow easy maintenance. Allow adequate space all
around the equipment for maintenance.

B1.3 Laws, Regulations and Standards
The installation of BravaDOS must be performed in compliance with local laws, regulations and standards.
B1.4 Instruction for installation
Before installing BravaDOS clean pipes and appliances installed upstream of the pump to eliminate foreign
bodies which can damage the pump. If the level of cleaning of the waterworks is not sufficient, provide a
thorough cleaning and sanitization of the waterworks and water storage tanks (if present). The pump should
not be installed between the boiler and safety relief valves.
The water distribution system should endowed with non-return devices. The equipment should be endowed
with a manual or automatic by-pass valve system in order to allow the withdrawal of non treated water
interrupting the flow of treated water.
It is advisable to install a protection filter upstream of BravaDOS in order to avoid blockages due to coarse
materials.
B1.5 Hydraulic checks after installation
After opening the water upstream of the equipment check for leaks.
1) Check for the correct installation of the pump in order to facilitate maintenance operations.
2) Verify the presence of a by-pass circuit that permits the exclusion of the pump and the presence of
sampling faucets upstream and downstream of the pump.
3) Check the correspondence of the system to any rules or recommendations issued by the competent
local area offices.
4) After the electrical checks fill the storage tank with AcquaSIL 20/40
