3.2 Center-Lautsprecher
Der Center-Lautsprecher wird auf einer Linie zu den
A
Front-Lautsprecher genau in die Mitte beider Front-
CH
Lautsprecher gestellt. Da hier auch das TV-Gerät
steht, muß ein magnetisch abgeschirmter Center-
Lautsprecher verwendet werden, sonst kommt es zu
Farbstichen auf dem Fernsehbildschirm.
3.3 Surround
Die Surround-Lautsprecher sollten links und rechts
von den Hörplätzen in mindestens 1,5 m Höhe ange-
ordnet sein und auf die Zuhörer gerichtet sein
(Abb. 4). Wenn es die Raumgegebenheiten zulas-
sen, ist es jedoch besser, die Surround-Lautsprecher
an der Decke zu befestigen und sie über die Wände
in den Raum reflektieren zu lassen (Abb. 5).
4 Anschluß aller Komponenten
Da der Anschluß je nach vorhanden Komponenten in
einer HiFi-Anlage variiert, ist in Abb. 3 nur ein Über-
blick der Möglichkeiten dargestellt. Zur besseren
Übersicht sind auch nur die Audio-Verbindungen
dargestellt. Der Anschluß der Antennen, Lautspre-
chern, Video-Verbindung, System-Steuerung und
Stromversorgung wurden weggelassen.
4.1 Antennen
Die UKW-Antenne an die Buchse FM 75 Ω (25) und
die Mittelwellenantenne an die Schraubklemmen AM
(26) anschließen. Einen optimalen Empfang liefern
natürlich nur Außenantennen.
4.2 Lautsprecher
Beim Anschluß der Lautsprecher (min. 8 Ω) unbe-
dingt auf die richtige Polung achten, d. h. der ge-
kennzeichnete Anschlußdraht eines Lautsprechers
muß immer in den dazugehörigen, roten Klemm-
anschluß gesteckt werden. Bei falschem Anschluß
entsteht eine unnatürliche Klangwiedergabe.

3.3 Surround
The surround speakers should be arranged left and
right of the hearing places at a height of at least
1.5 m and should be directed towards the listeners
(fig. 4). With suitable room conditions, it is better to
fix the surround speakers at the ceiling and to let
them reflect via the walls into the room (fig. 5).
4 Connection of all components
As the connection varies according to the existing
components in a HiFi system, fig. 3 only shows an
example of arrangement. For a better view only the
audio connections are shown. The connections of
antennas, speakers, video, system control, and
power supply are left out.
4.1 Antennas
Connect the FM antenna to the jack FM 75 Ω (25)
and the AM antenna to the screw terminal AM (26).
Of course only outside antennas supply an optimum
reception.
4.2 Speakers
While connecting the speakers (at least 8 Ω) watch in
any case the correct polarity, i.e. the marked con-
necting wire of one speaker must always be put to
the corresponding red terminal connection. With
wrong connection there is an unnatural sound repro-
duction.
FRONT SPEAKERS (33)
Connections for the front speakers,
the upper 4 terminals for speaker pair A,
the lower 4 terminals for speaker pair B.
CENTER SPEAKER (34)
Connections for the center speaker.
SURROUND SPEAKERS (35)
Connections for the surround speakers. Always both
surround speakers must be connected. With only
one surround speaker connected, there is no tone at
all.

FRONT SPEAKERS (33)

Anschlüsse für die Surround-Lautsprecher. Es müs-
sen immer beide Surround-Lautsprecher ange-
schlossen sein. Ein einzeln angeschlossener Sur-
round-Lautsprecher bleibt stumm.
4.3 Audio-Verbindungen
4.3.1 Plattenspieler
Ein Plattenspieler mit Magnetsystem kann an die
Buchsen PHONO (27) angeschlossen werden.
4.3.2 CD-Spieler
Ein CD-Spieler kann an die Buchsen CD (28) ange-
schlossen werden.
4.3.3 Tape-Deck
An die Buchsen TAPE 1 und TAPE 2 (29) können
zwei Tape-Decks angeschlossen werden. Dabei dür-
fen die Anschlüsse REC für Aufnahme und PLAY für
Wiedergabe weder am Receiver noch am Tape-
Deck verwechselt werden.
Tape-Decks mit Hinterbandkontrolle an die Buch-
sen TAPE 2 anschließen, damit die Hinterbandkon-
trolle genutzt werden kann.
4.3.4 Equalizer
Ein Equalizer kann anstelle eines zweiten Tape-
Decks vor die Endstufen zwischengeschaltet wer-
den. Den Equalizers mit den Buchsen (29) verbinden:
TAPE 2 PLAY für den Ausgang des Equalizers
TAPE 2 REC für den Eingang des Equalizers.
Der Equalizer wird mit der Taste TAPE 2 (7) ange-
wählt.
4.3.5 Weiteres Gerät mit Line-Ausgang
Ein weiteres Gerät mit Line-Ausgang kann an die
Buchsen AUX (30) angeschlossen werden.
4.3 Audio connections
4.3.1 Turntable
A turntable with magnetic system can be connected
to the jacks PHONO (27).
4.3.2 CD player
A CD player can be connected to the jacks CD (28).
4.3.3 Tape deck
Two tape decks can be connected to the jacks
TAPE 1 and TAPE 2 (29). The connections REC for
recording and PLAY for playing must neither be
mixed up at the receiver nor at the tape deck.
Connect tape decks with tape monitoring while re-
cording to the jacks TAPE 2, so that this function can
be used.
4.3.4 Equalizer
An equalizer can be inserted instead of a second
tape deck ahead of the power amplifiers. Connect
the equalizer to the jacks (29):
TAPE 2 PLAY for the output of the equalizer
TAPE 2 REC for the input of the equalizer.
The equalizer is controlled with the button
TAPE 2 (7).
4.3.5 Additional line input
An additional unit with line output can be connected
to the jacks AUX (30).
4.3.6 Video recorder and TV set
The audio inputs and outputs of a video recorder are
connected to the jacks VIDEO 1 (31). The connec-
tions REC for recording and PLAY for playing must
neither be mixed up at the receiver nor at the video
recorder.
The audio output of the TV set is connected to the
jacks VIDEO 2 (32).
4.4 Video connections
Parallel to the audio signals VIDEO 1 and VIDEO 2
the DSR-2000 offers the facility also to switch over the
corresponding video signals. This is e. g. reasonable
in case the TV set does not have enough video inputs.
4.3.6 Videorecorder und TV-Gerät
Die Audio-Ein- und Ausgänge eines Videorecorders
werden an die Buchsen VIDEO 1 (31) angeschlos-
sen. Dabei dürfen die Anschlüsse REC für Aufnahme
und PLAY für Wiedergabe weder am Receiver noch
am Videorecorder verwechselt werden.
Der Audio-Ausgang vom Fernsehgerät wird an die
Buchsen VIDEO 2 (32) angeschlossen.
4.4 Video-Verbindungen
Der DSR-2000 bietet die Möglichkeit, parallel zu den
Audio-Signalen VIDEO 1 und VIDEO 2 auch die da-
zugehörigen Video-Signale mit umzuschalten. Das
ist dann z. B. sinnvoll, wenn das TV-Gerät nicht
genügend Video-Eingänge besitzt.
1) In diesem Fall muß der Audio-Ausgang des TV-
Gerätes mit dem Eingang AUX (30) verbunden
werden und der Video-Eingang des TV-Gerätes
mit der Buchse MONITOR OUT (38).
2) Die Video-Ein- und Ausgänge des Videorecorders
werden an die Buchsen (36) VIDEO 1 PLAY für
Wiedergabe und VIDEO 1 REC für Aufnahme an-
geschlossen.
3) Ein zweiter Videorecorder (nur für Wiedergabe)
oder z. B. ein Bildplattenspieler kann nun über die
Eingänge VIDEO 2 angeschlossen werden:
Buchse VIDEO 2 (32) für die Audio-Signale,
Buchse VIDEO 2 PLAY (37) für das Video-Signal.
4.5 System-Steuerung
Die System-Steuerung ermöglicht bei Anschluß der
dazugehörigen Geräte (z. B. MONACOR CD-Spieler
CD-2000, MONACOR Doppel-Tape-Deck TDD-
2000) eine umfangreiche Funktionssteuerung aller
Komponenten. Zum Beispiel schaltet der Receiver
automatisch auf die entsprechende Eingangsquelle
um, wenn der CD-Spieler oder das Tape-Deck auf
Start geschaltet wird. Auch ist eine automatische
Pegeleinstellung bei CD-Aufnahmen auf dem Tape-
Deck möglich: die CD wird kurz angespielt, der Re-
corder stellt den Aufnahmepegel vor dem Aufnahme-
start ein, und anschließend startet die CD vom
Anfang, die Aufnahme beginnt - alles automatisch!

4.5 System control
With the connection of the matching units (e. g.
MONACOR CD player CD-2000, MONACOR
double tape deck TDD-2000), the system control
makes an extensive function control of all compo-
nents units possible e. g. the receiver automatically
switches over to the corresponding input source if
the CD player or the tape deck are switched to start.
Also an automatic level adjustment with CD record-
ings is possible on the tape deck: the playing of the
CD is shortly started, the recorder adjusts the record-
ing level prior to the recording start, and then the CD
starts from the beginning and the recording starts -
fully automatically! Besides all important functions of
the CD player and the tape deck can be controlled
via the remote control of the receiver.
For this connect the enclosed control cable (with
3.5 mm plugs) to the jacks SYSTEM CONTROL of
the receiver (39), of the CD player, and the tape
deck.
4.6 Power supply
Two further audio units in the HiFi system which are
to be switched on and off together with the receiver
can be connected with the mains cable to the mains
jacks (40). The power consumption of both units
must not exceed 120 W max.
Only after all units have been wired with each
other, connect the mains plug to the socket (230 V~/
50 Hz).
