3. Position the voicemitter microphone assembly with the
gasket aligned with the circular face of the component
housing.
4. If using the I-HUD option, position the I-HUD retaining clip
on the speaking diaphragm housing. Ensure the locking
mechanism located on the top of the clip is facing toward
you, and the fingers at the bottom of the clip are engaged
around the rib above the inhalation valve.
NOTE: The old speaking diaphragm retaining ring cannot be
used with the new voicemitter.
5. Thread the new voicemitter retaining ring onto the com-
ponent housing speaking diaphragm opening and hand-
tighten. Ensure the voicemitter has NO movement.
6. Reinstall the nosecup, if applicable.
7. Attach the microphone
wire connector to the
mounting bracket with
two screws. The connec-
tor must be oriented to
be inserted into the
mounting bracket.
NOTE: Make sure the wire of microphone is tucked under the
lens ring of facepiece.
Install the Mounting Bracket to the Facepiece
1. Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen and remove the screw
from left side of the facepiece lens retaining ring. (Be sure
not to lose the nut, if applicable).
2. Position the metal tab of
the mounting bracket,
on top of the lens rings,
and reinstall the screw.
Tighten firmly.
3. Using a small Phillips screwdriver, remove the component
housing ring screw.

4. Position the mounting
bracket over the compo-
nent housing. Ensure the
alignment of the metal
tab over the component
housing insert and the
alignment of the mount-
ing bracket screw hole
over the component
housing ring hole.
5. Insert the longer screw (supplied with kit) through the
mounting bracket into the component housing ring hole.
Tighten firmly.
Replacing the Component Housing Cover
Be careful not to damage any internal parts of the compo-
nent housing assembly (exhalation valve, spring, retainer, or
speaking diaphragm) once the cover is removed.
Installing the Component Housing Cover
MMR with Push-to-Connect Adapter
1. Insert the tab on the component housing cover into the
slot in the lens ring, and place the component housing
cover over the housing.
2. With the cover not yet secured onto the housing, hand-
tighten the Push-to-Connector Adapter into the compo-
nent housing. When doing so verify:
a. Orientation of the
Push-to-Connect
adapter is aligned with
the octagonal shape
Metal Tab
on the cover and the
mold lines on the
Push-To-Connect
adapter being
centered at each
octagon flat.
3. Press in on the front of the cover until the cover hook
snaps into place.
4. Line up the screw holes in the cover with the metal tab
mounting bracket and threaded inserts in the housing.
5. Place the neckstrap brackets into the cover sockets. Install
the new Phillips screws and tighten.
6. Verify that there is no loose play in the assembly of the
parts.
7. Don the facepiece and check the face-to-facepiece seal.
