Recessed-mounted motion detector
AGON LUX 160° LBM 16934
AGON KOMBI 160° LBU 16910
Function
The AGON 160° recessed-mounted motion detector has been
designed for wall mounting and is installed in a recessed-
mounted box instead of a conventional light switch. The motion
detector functions using passive infrared technology (PIR). The
device has an in-built PIR sensor that detects moving heat
sources within a field of detection of 160°. The switching times
and the twilight feature are infinitely variable.
Safety instructions
This device must be installed by a technician in
accordance with the applicable regulations. The
electrical power supply must be switched off throughout
the entire installation process. To guarantee this, the circuit
protection must be switched off.
Please check that the connection cable is disconnected!
Under no circumstances does the warranty cover damage
resulting from failure to observe these instructions. Nor do we
accept liability for any indirect damage. Similarly, we can accept
no liability for any material damage or bodily injury caused by
mishandling or failure to observe the safety instructions. No
warranty claim may be made in these cases. In addition, for
safety and compliance reasons, you are not authorised to
dismantle or alter the device in any way.

Mounting position

The 160° recessed-mounted motion detector reacts to sources
of heat. To prevent switching errors, ensure that the device is
not installed above heaters or exposed to direct sunlight (fig. A).
Installation
Remove the frame and the sensor. Now, connect up the device
as shown in the wiring diagram (fig. B). Alternatively, the AGON
KOMBI 160° LBS 16910 can also be connected in two-wire
technology (fig. B2). Place the supply unit in the recessed-
mounted box and tighten the two fastening claws on the left
and right. Now attach the sensor section, screw it to the supply
unit and replace the cover frame. Finally, switch the circuit
protection on.
Settings
To enter test mode, configure the controller as displayed in
(fig. E). The metre, time and Lux controllers can be used to
configure individual settings (fig. E). Additional functions can
be selected using the sliding switch (fig. E):
OFF = switched off: Always move the switch to this position
when replacing the illuminant
PIR = automatic mode: The motion detector switches on the
light when it detects movement and then turns the light off
after the preset time has elapsed, provided that the detector
has not detected any further movement
ON = continuous lighting: The consumer remains
permanently switched on
AGON LUX LBM 16934
If the measured light value falls below the set value the
integrated LED light switches on slightly delayed.
Recycling instructions
Do not dispose of this device with unsorted household
waste. Owners of old devices are required by law to
dispose of this device properly. Contact your town council
for further information.

Troubleshooting - practical advice
Fault
Cause
Motion detector responds too late
• head-on movement
Maximum range is not reached
• Motion detector is mounted too low
• Difference between the ambient temperature
and the source of heat is negligible
Lamp is permanently lit or light is switched
• Constant warm movements; the motion detector has been installed above a source of heat (e.g. a heating
on when not needed
device) or has been exposed to direct/indirect rays of sunlight
Light does not switch on
• Faulty fuse
• Faulty illuminant
• Observe minimum load of 40 watts
