4. Place the shade pole in the sun shade
base and fix it in place (see the user
manual for the sun shade base).
Opening the shade
Make sure that the shade is adequately
supported; that is, that the weight of the
sun shade base is sufficient (see "Tech-
nical data").
1. Remove the tie strap and, if appli-
cable, the protective sleeve (see fig-
ure C).
2. Gently open the shade by hand (see
figure D).
3. Slide the sleeve b up beyond the dead
centre. Thus, the sun shade remains
open (see figures E and F).
Adjusting the height
1. Hold the shade pole at the top and si-
multaneously loosen the knob a by
turning it counterclockwise (see fig-
ure G).
Now, you can telescope the two pole
parts or slide them apart from each
other. Observe the insertion depth of
at least 10 cm in the process (see fig-
ure B).
2. Set the sun shade to the desired
height and tighten the knob a again.
Tilting the shade
You can tilt the shade to the side.
1. Open the shade completely. The
joint c must be free (see figure H).
2. Push the button d down (see figure I).
3. Tilt the shade to the side by hand (see
figure J).
Closing the shade
The shade must be closed in the event
of incoming wind, rain or snow. Damages
occurring as the result of failure to do so
are excluded from the warranty.
1. If the shade has been tilted, push the
button d and place the shade roof in a

horizontal position (see figure K). The
button d will lock in place.
2. Pull the sleeve b down beyond the
dead centre and close the shade (see
figure L).
3. To protect against wind gusts, secure
the cover with a tie strap.
To protect against dirt and fading, pull
over a protective sleeve (not included
in product contents).
Care + storage
The cover has a stain-resistant impreg-
nation. In order to clean it, ideally use a
soft brush and a small amount of soapy
solution.
The fabric is suitable for hand washing at
40 °C. Do not use a tumble-dryer. Do not
iron. Do not dry-clean.
Clean the shade pole regularly to ensure
that the mobile parts slide properly. If nec-
essary spray it with a silicon or Teflon lu-
bricant spray.
Check all load-bearing parts such as
braces, screws etc. regularly.
Take down the sun shade in a completely
dry state and store it over winter in a dry,
well ventilated room.
At the start of the season ensure that all
components and fixings are secure. If
you are unsure, do not use the product.
