Before First Use

To Sanitize Parts on the Stove:
Place disassembled pump parts (except pump unit, AC adapter, tubing,
tubing adapter, and diaphragm cap) in a pan of boiling water for 5 minutes.
Stir frequently. DO NOT allow parts to rest on bottom of pan as they may
melt or become damaged.
To Sanitize Parts in the Microwave:
This pump may be used with a microwave sanitation device (except pump
unit, AC adapter, tubing, tubing adapter, and diaphragm cap). Please follow
device manufacturer's instructions.

Before Every Use
• Wash your hands with soap and water before handling your pump.
• Ensure parts are clean and dry. Refer to cleaning instructions on page 14.
• Use care when handling the valve/membrane assembly to avoid damage.
• Visually inspect the individual components for cracks, chips, tears,
discoloration or deterioration. In the event that damage to the device
is observed, please discontinue use until the damaged parts have been
replaced.
WARNING
NEVER immerse pump unit or
AC adapter in water or attempt
to sanitize in a microwave oven.
Damage to parts and oven
may occur. Do not boil or
wash tubing or tubing adapter.

Note: If the membrane is not lying flat against the valve, the pump will lose
suction and will not work properly. Also, make sure the membrane is not torn, as
this too will cause decreased suction and the pump not to work properly.

Assembling the Flange

Attach the membrane A to the valve B.
Make sure the membrane is lying flat
against the valve.
Push valve assembly C onto the bottom
of the flange D. Screw bottle E into
bottom of flange.
Install diaphragm F and diaphragm
cap G on to flange assembly H.
Note: Diaphragm cap can can be turned
to orient tubing as desired.
Attach tubing I to diaphragm cap G.
Note: If you intend to pump from both
breasts at the same time, repeat steps 1
through 4 for the second flange.
