2.2.1 In stand-alone mode
All the functions of a multi-meter are available. The instantaneous value of the CO
content is visible on the display.
A triangle on the display indicates the calibration and medium selected.
Adjustment:
-
Wait a few minutes until the electronics are in balance: the triangle above the
egg timer flashes during this phase, then stops.
Select the medium "air" by pressing the medium selection button.

Hold down the violet button. The triangle flashes opposite the pictogram

Set zero using the adjustment button, with the probe in free air.
Briefly press the violet button. The triangle flashes opposite the "slope"
-

Place the probe in the calibration solution (see instructions for CO
453 076); the arrow of direction of variation at the top flashes, indicating an
increase in the CO
content (N.B. the displayed value does not change).

When the direction of variation arrows flash alternately, the probe is in balance;
simply turn the adjustment button to display 5.82 (%) then press the adjustment
button a final time.
If adjustment is satisfactory, the triangle lights up opposite the "ok" pictogram.

If the probe malfunctions, the triangle is located opposite the pictogram "HS"
-
(malfunction).
Remark: The fact the "malfunction" message flashes does not necessarily signify
that the probe is not working. This message frequently indicates a malfunction
which must be diagnosed before starting acquisition of the reading. The
malfunction may result from multiple causes: pierced membrane, inadequate
quantity of electrolyte, contaminated electrode, wrong electrolyte (mix up of
electrolyte for the O
probe and the CO
2
CO
probe and the acid calibration solution) etc.

2.2.2 In connected mode
Once the console is connected to the computer, the sensor display goes out. The
values measured are visible only on the computer and the buttons become
inactive. The adjustment phase is identical as in the method described above but
the instructions are displayed on the computer screen.
