Installation Procedure for Windows XP OS

1. Locate an available PCI slot on your computer.
2. Insert the PCI Card into the slot. Apply pressure as needed until it is fully
seated.
3. Insert the Belkin USB 2.0 driver installation CD into your computer's CD-
ROM drive.
4. After installing the PCI Card, turn on the computer.
5. After loading, the Windows XP OS will detect "NEC PCI to USB Open Host
EN
Controller". The required driver support will be automatically installed. No
user input is required. This will repeat one more time.
6. The Windows XP OS will detect "NEC PCI to USB Enhanced Host
Controller". A "New Hardware Wizard" window will open. With the
installation CD in the drive, select "Next" to install the driver. The
Windows OS may display a message indicating that the driver that you
are installing has not passed "Windows Logo testing". Click "Continue
Anyway".
7. The Windows XP OS will detect "USB Root Hub". The required driver
support will be automatically installed. This will repeat two times.
Installation is now complete.

Verifying Proper Installation (Windows XP OS)

After installation, check the Windows XP OS's Device Manager to confirm
that the PCI Card has been installed.
1. Right-click on "My Computer".
2. Select "Properties".
3. Select the "Hardware" tab and click on the "Device Manager" button.
4. Click the plus sign (+) next to "Universal Serial Bus Controllers". The
"Device Manager" list will now include two "NEC USB Open Host
Controller" entries, one "Belkin USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Host Controller" entry,
and two additional "USB Root Hub" entries.
