Optimization Guide for Your DB30 Mini-Bike
For models having Engine Family "BBJMX.098MBR" or "ABJMX.098MB1"
Position "A" shows Engine Label location

Follow the steps below to optimize your mini-bike. Refer to the drawing for the location of items mentioned.
This guide is intended to supplement reading and understanding your Operator's Manual.
1.
Choke Operation/Label: You may need to use the choke function until the engine has completely warmed up. As the
engine warms, the choke lever can be progressively reduced. Once the engine is completely warm, turn the choke lever to
the OFF position.
NOTE: From the rear of the bike, the choke lever is ON when pushed all the way to the right and OFF when pushed all the
way to the left. Please note some units may be incorrectly labeled.
2.
Idle Speed Adjustment: Turn the idle adjustment screw clockwise to raise the idle speed, and turn the idle adjustment
screw counterclockwise to lower the idle speed.
3.
Throttle Limiter: In order to accommodate varying terrain and weights of riders up to 150 lbs., some throttle limiter
adjustment may be required. On the back of the engine, you will find a phillips screw with a spring wrapped around it
located on the throttle control arm at the bottom of the throttle cable. Turning the screw counterclockwise will allow the
throttle to be opened further.
DO NOT proceed with step four (4) unless steps one (1) through three (3) fail to optimize the performance of your DB30.
4.
Fuel Mixture Screw: The fuel mixture screw can be adjusted to assist in proper idling. Using an awl, remove the plug
located on the right side of the carburetor. Using a small flat blade screwdriver, turn the fuel mixture screw clockwise until
lightly bottomed, then turn it counterclockwise approximately four (4) complete turns or until the unit idles smoothly. The
idle speed may need fine tuning after performing this adjustment. Refer to step 2 if idle speed adjustment is needed.
Traditionally, any modification to the carburetor that results in a change to a vehicle's air-fuel ratio—other than those changes described in the pre-approved
jetting chart and corresponding revised certificate application—is considered tampering, and is a violation of federal law, and may result in the imposition
of penalties. However, in this instance this modification is not tampering and will not affect your vehicle or engine control system Limited Warranty.
