Der POWER3 ist ein Energiespeicher zum Anschluss an GOLD-Decoder. Aus diesem Speicher werden Decoder und Lok während einer Unterbrechung am Gleis (z.B.durch verschmutze Gleise) weiter mit Energie versorgt.
- Page 3 Anschluss und Einbau des POWER3 an den GOLD - Decoder Die Anschlüsse des POWER3 Modul sind als lose Drähte ausgeführt. Das Modul selbst ist mit einem Schrumpfschlauch umgeben, der einerseits empfindliche Bauteile schützen, andererseits die Montage in der Lok erleichtern soll. Durch den Schrumpfschlauch werden eventuelle Kurzschlüsse zu Metallteilen in der Lok wirksam vermieden, belassen Sie also diesen Schlauch auf jeden Fall über dem Modul.

- Page 5 Speicherzeit des POWER3 Eine Frage, die sich dem Modellbahner natürlich stellt ist "Wie weit fährt meine Lok denn bei einer Unterbrechung?" Diese Frage kann direkt nicht beantwortet werden, denn die zurückgelegte Strecke ist von zwei Faktoren abhängig: der Stromaufnahme des Motors und vom Getriebe der Lok. Je höher die Stromaufnahme des Motors, desto schneller ist der Energiespeicher leer, der zurückgelegte Weg also kürzer als bei einem Motor mit geringer Stromaufnahme.

The module is encapsuated by a heat-shrinking sleeve that protects sensitive components and facilitates installation. It also serves to prevent short-circuits to the metal components inside the locomotive - do not remove it from the module on any account.

Solder the pink cable to soldering surface "charge". Solder the brown cable to soldering surface "GND". While soldering take care not to create short-circuits between the soldering surfaces and other components of the locomotive decoder as this could severely damage the decoder!

Le module lui-même est entouré d'une gaine thermorétractable destinée d'une part à protéger les éléments sensibles et d'autre part à faciliter le montage dans la locomotive.
