first time and after a long period of disuse.
Charging takes about 1 hour if the appliance
is completely empty. A fully charged appliance
provides up to 60 operating minutes.

orange, the battery is almost empty (Fig. 4).

battery charge indicator flashes white (Fig. 5).
-
After about 5 minutes, the battery contains

2
put the adapter in the wall socket (Fig. 7).
Optimising the lifetime of the
rechargeable battery
When you have charged the appliance for the first
time, we advise you to use it until the battery is
completely empty. Continue to use the appliance
until the motor almost stops running during a
session. Then recharge the battery. Follow this
procedure at least twice a year.
Using the appliance
You can use the appliance to trim facial hair
(beard, moustache and sideburns). This appliance
is not intended for trimming lower body parts or
scalp hair.
-
You can also operate the appliance directly
from the mains, simply plug it in (see section
'Charging with the adapter'). (Fig. 8)
Switching the appliance on and off

1
button once (Fig. 9).
To switch off the appliance, press the on/off
2

Trimming with comb
The appliance comes with a comb that allows you
to trim hair to different lengths as it keeps the
trimming head at a certain distance from your skin.
This distance determines the remaining hair length
and can be adjusted by turning the zoom wheel.
Start at the highest setting to acquire practice with
this appliance.
Slide the comb into the guiding grooves on
1
both sides of the appliance ('click') (Fig. 10).
Turn the zoom wheel to select the desired
2
hair length setting (Fig. 11).
-
The length setting selected is shown below the
indicator on the front of the appliance.
-
You can select a length from 0.4mm to 10mm
(see table in section 'Length settings' below).

Tips
-
Always make sure that the tips of the comb point
in the direction in which you move the appliance.
-
Make sure that the flat part of the comb is
always in full contact with the skin to obtain
an even hair length result.
-
Since hair grows in different directions, you
need to move the appliance in different
directions (upward, downward or across).
-
For the best result, move the appliance against
the hair growth direction.
-
Trimming is easier when skin and hair are dry.
Clean the appliance after use (see chapter
5
'Cleaning and maintenance').
Trimming without comb
-
If you trim without the comb, your hair is cut off
close to the skin. You can use the trimming head
without the comb to trim or contour your beard,
moustache, sideburns or neckline (Fig. 14).
If the comb is still on the trimming head,
1
pull it off (Fig. 15).
Never pull at the flexible top of the comb.
Always pull at the sides.
Switch on the appliance (Fig. 9).
2
You can now start trimming or contouring
3
your beard, moustache, sideburns or neckline.
-
For a comfortable trim close to your skin,
place the flat side of the trimming head against
your skin and make strokes in the desired
direction (Fig. 16).
-
For contouring hold the trimming head
perpendicular to the skin and move the
trimming head upwards or downwards with
gentle pressure (Fig. 17).
Clean the attachment after use (see chapter
4
'Cleaning and maintenance').
