1. DESCRIPTION
The 16-657-01 is a camera interface and is part of the range Access Control Design. Via the camera
interface, you can connect an external camera to the system. The 16-657-01 has a black enclosure
with metal side profiles and is provided with the following connectors:
- screw connector for connection of a motion detector and/or an external contact
- 12V DC output power supply for control of an external camera
- output power supply for powering an external camera
- coax input (BNC) for sending the image of the external camera to the module
- RJ45 output to send the image of the external camera to the programmed internal units via the
switcher. The camera interface is a 'plug and play' concept: you only have to make the connections.
The camera interface is provided with a programming key and a DIP switch for programming the
video signal.
2. INSTALLATION
Choice of the cabling
Niko recommends the following cables:
- interior cable:
- UTP cat. 5E (max. 100m)
- exterior cable / underground cable:
- UTP cat. 5E OUTDOOR
- ATCUG (armoured telephone cable): 4 x 2 x 0.8mm (This cable is less practical in use, but
does guarantee covering longer distances thanks to the larger wire section). In order to simplify
installation, a transition piece from UTP to screw connection is available (16-679-01).
