Software Installation

Insert the CD into your drive. If the disc does not auto run browse to your
CD drive and open the file SETUP.EXE. Follow the setup instructions. Once
installed browse to the program file, right click on the 'SP' icon and select
the option 'Pin to Start Menu' for easy access. If you have any problems
with installation either contact
administrator.

You will need administrator rights over your computer to install this
software.
Set Up
Initially have the rope sense unit close to your PC. Plug the USB aerial into
a spare USB socket on the computer previously installed with the software.
Open the software. The software needs to be associated with the load
cell. Do this by pressing the 'Settings' button and entering the 6 digit
code (all letters must be entered in CAPITALS) in the 'Remote Address'
box. Press 'OK' on the set-up window. You will only need to do this once.
Select a folder for logged data in the 'Settings' menu under 'Select Log
Directory'. You may wish to create a specific file for this data. The unit is
now ready for use.
Operation
Plug in the USB aerial. Open the Rope Sense program. After a short time the
read out should change from '--------' to '0.00' and the green light will flash.
(If neither happens detach the aerial, close the software and start again).

You can now start measuring load. To capture readings simply press the
'Log Data' button and press again to stop. A file will be written to your
specified location (see Set Up). You can use all the spread sheet tools to
process and analyse the data.
The load cell will automatically power on and off with the software. No
external power control is possible on the hardware (other than removing
the batteries).
Operation
The program can be adjusted to suit your requirements. Press the 'Settings'
button to access these. Below is a list of adjustable settings:
Decimal Display - The accuracy of data can be adjusted by showing more
decimal places.
Fast Transmit Delay - adjust the frequency when 'Fast' logging data to
suit your needs
Load Units - Tonnes are the default load units. Return to Spinlock for
programming,
Graph Top - Set the graph range by in increments of 1 tonne to suit the
application.
