Cleaning Agents/Supplies for Calibration Syringes

hospital disinfectant/cleaners are recommended for periodic
cleaning (wiping down) of SIBELMED calibration syringes.
Use clean soft cloths for wiping and drying.
Caution: Do not use cleaning solutions
cylinder area of the syringe.

Cleaning/Maintenance Methods

Step 1.
Inspection
Inspect the syringe for damage at all stages of handling. If
damage is detected on any components of the syringe it should
be identified and documented. Complete the cleaning process and
contact SIBEL S.A.U. for guidance on replacement components
and after sales service.
Step 2.
Manual cleaning (waste disposal)
Prepare the detergent or soap solution. Typical concentration of
detergent is 30g (one ounce) to 3,8 liters of water. With a clean
soft cloth damp from the detergent solution wipe down the outside
surfaces of the syringe. Follow with a dry soft cloth to remove
any residue. When using hospital disinfectant cleaners follow the
manufacturer's instructions. Dry thoroughly using a soft cloth or
disposable paper towel.
Step 3.
Functional test
Leak test the calibration syringe by occluding the outlet port with
one hand while pushing on the piston rod with the other. With
your ear close to the piston rod end plate listen for any hissing
sound indicating a leak.
Step 4.

Recalibration

Recalibration at SIBEL S.A.U. is recommended once per year.
A calibration due date is labeled on each syringe.
Step 5.
Storage
Calibration syringes should be stored in a way that prevents
contamination and damage between uses.
