Encountered problems
The Towbar's connector are not
corresponding or it is impossible to
connect
The Towbar kit is not complete or is

Causes possibles et/ou solutions
1.Make sure you have correctly identified vehicle connectors and harness connectors and check
their installation.
2.Check that the harness is not installed contrary to the assembly instruction
3.Check and verify that the connectors are connected. The mechanism requires strong force for
insertion
4.Check if the harness is compatible with the model or the car's year of manufactured
5. The car was modified after its circulation, the connectors doesn't match. Contact your supplier
1. Take pictures of the packaging and the harness, in particular damaged area and contact your
supplier and send him these photos.
2. If you find any missing components , contact your supplier
3. Do not install the harness
1. Check you have rightly connected the harness on the vehicle ,refer yourself to the assembly
instructions
2.Verify , that the vehicle and the towbar 's connectors are good snapped
3. Make sur, you have rightly installed the +12v on the battery and the ground on the vehicle.
Secondly, check the fuse, this is allowed to transmit the necessary power for the trailers lights.
4. If you have reach the end of the assembly instructions , and right connect all the system, if the
trailer s lights are not working , it's possible to have a defective electronic box/relays , please
contact your supplier
5. Verify the micro-switch on the trailer plug, it have to be correctly connected(refer to assembly
instructions)
This micro-switch allows the grounding of the relays' coils of the harness, follow the assembly
instructions.
6. The functioning tests have to be realized with a real trailer, not with tester.
7. Please check the trailer bulbs
8. There are bad contact in connectors
1. The LEONI specifics harnesses does not use the can-bus of the automotive, Faults that are
triggered on the vehicle shall in no case come from LEONI specific towing harness.
1. Check the kit compatibility with the fog function switch off. Respect the trailer power , refer to
the assembly instructions.
2.Make sure the bulb of the fog vehicle and the trailer is functional.
3. If the trailer does not have Fog function, an alert can be automatically send to the dashboard.
4. Trailer do not have fog bulbs/light
5. The trailer have 2 fog bulbs and it's induce an expensive trailer's consumption
1. check the bulbs which ensure the relevant functions on the vehicle are not defective and are
not driving wrong information at the trailer
2. Respect the trailer recommended power, please refer to the connection board of the assembly
instruction.
1. Check if the Harness do this function(or if it's compatible)
2. If the LEONI specifics harnesses does not automatically switch off rear sensors , please refer at
the assembly instructions
1. Please check the auto motive's bulbs function
2. The harness is not corresponding with the version of the vehicle (modulated signal)
