belonging to your CO
fertilizer system.

Note on the CO
diffusor
2
These CO
diffusors require slightly more pressure in order to force the CO
2
through the extremely fine-pored atomizer. The supply hose acts as a pressure
buffer here. The necessary build-up or reduction of pressure in the hose thus
takes markedly longer than with pressureless diffusors. The shorter the hose,
the more quickly the correct number of bubbles can be set.
Recommended procedure in combination with the Dennerle
Nano pressure reducer:
• Open control valve by approx. 1½ turns and wait until the first bubbles issue
from the diffusor. If no bubbles issue after approx. 15-30 minutes, open the
control valve in successive ½-turn steps, waiting 15-30 minutes in each case.
• As soon as bubbles issue regularly from the diffusor, carry out fine setting of
1-2 scale marks, in each case waiting 10-15 minutes for the new setting to
stabilise. Once the desired setting is attained, the system will run at a stable
number of bubbles.
Note on the check valve: There is always a little water in the check valve when
it is in operation – also under the tappet. This is in order to produce a seal. If the
hose leading to the CO
pressure reducer is filled with water over a substantial length,
2
however, this indicates that the check valve has either been fitted incorrectly (see
above) or has a leak, in which case it should be replaced.
3 Setting and checking the correct CO
level with the Crystal Line CO
term test
The colouring of the special CO
content:
• Blue = not enough CO
2
• Green = CO
level ideal (approx. 20 mg/l)
2
• Yellow = too much CO
2
3. Add tap water to the bubble counter
with the pipette until it is 3/4 full.
4. Use an appropriate length of hose to
connect bubble counter and CO
Attach bubble counter and check valve
to the outside of the aquarium in vertical
(!) position, using 2 suction clips each.
5. Select a spot in the aquarium where the
water movement is good. The chosen
spot should be as dark as possible, in
order to prevent algae formation. Fix

Please note: As the CO
tor, the colouring of the indicator always responds to changes in the CO

content after a delay of several hours. You should therefore always

increase the supply of CO

2
Rule of thumb for the basic setting of a CO
system: Begin at approx. 10 bubbles per minute per 100 l of aquari-
um water, i.e. 2 x 10 = 20 bubbles per minute for a 200 l aquarium.
Check the CO

regularly, adjusting the CO
long-term test
2
1. Moisten the nipple of the test
container slightly and attach
suction clip with due care.
2. Shake the indicator down in the
ampoule so that there is no indicator
in the neck of the ampoule. Open
ampoule by twisting off the sealing
tab.
3. Pour the entire contents of the ampou-
le into the test container, using the
enclosed pipette if necessary.
4. Carefully turn the test container
around and use the suction clip to
secure it in an upright position at a
clearly visible point in the aquarium
where a gentle flow of water prevails.
5. Stick the colour matching scale to the
outside of the front pane. µ
