1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Congratulations on purchasing your new Rotronic BL-1D (humidity, temperature, pressure
and dewpoint), HL-1D (humidity and temperature), TL-1D (temperature) data logger. Please
read these short instructions carefully before using the device. These short instructions are
limited to a description of the main functions and installation of the device.

3 INSERTING / REPLACING THE BATTERY
The data loggers run on one CR2 battery. To insert the battery, open the BAT lid and insert the
battery with the right polarity (+/-). When closing the lid, ensure that the O-ring is correctly
positioned.
Low battery voltage may result in incorrect measurement results. As soon as the bat-
tery symbol appears, the battery should be replaced.
4 OPERATION / DISPLAY

4.1 START / STOP BUTTON
Press the button once to switch the device on or off (the device cannot be
switched off in LOG mode). To start or stop data logging, press the START/
STOP button and hold it down until "LOG" appears on the display, or pro-
gram the desired logging time using HW4.
4.2 MODE BUTTON
Every 5 seconds (default value), or when the MODE button is pressed, the
display toggles between "Humidity & Temperature" and "Pressure & Dew-
point". In LOG mode, press and hold down to display the MIN/MAX/ AVG of
the stored data.
HL-1D/TL-1D: In LOG mode, press the button for a moment to display the MIN/MAX/AVG
of the stored data

4.3 LED STATUS INDICATOR
In Log mode, the right-hand LED flashes green every 5 seconds. When the
alarm threshold has been exceeded, or if the battery is low, the left-hand
LED flashes red every 5 seconds.
5 SETTING / DISPLAY OF THE LOGGED DATA
Settings can be made, and logged data can be downloaded or displayed, only on a PC that
hasthe Rotronic HW4 software installed. The device is connected to the PC via a commercially
available USB-to-USB mini-cable (AC0003) The cover of the USB port on the device can be
opened with a coin. More detailed information about making settings via HW4 will be found
in the device-manager Help document.
When the logger is used for the first time, the clock must be synchronized.
6 TROUBLESHOOTING
Error Problem Solution
E02 Temperature is too low Permitted ambient temperature:

E04 Error in temperature measurement Place the measurement device in a
normal environment
