Intended Use

Handheld rotary engraving tool for light-duty engraving work in
metal, glass and plastic surfaces and similar materials.

Unpacking Your Tool

• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise
yourself with all its features and functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good
condition. If any parts are missing or damaged, have such
parts replaced before attempting to use this tool

Before Use

WARNING: Always disconnect the tool from the power supply
before making any adjustments or carrying out maintenance
procedures
Replacing the engraving tip
1. Loosen the Tip Release Screw (4) by turning it anti-
clockwise using a slotted (flat head) screwdriver
2. Remove the worn Engraving Tip (1) and insert a new
engraving tip into the collet of the tool
3. Tighten the tip release screw to secure the new tip in
the collet
Adjusting the depth of engraving
• The Stroke Adjustment Dial (2) controls the stroke length
and therefore the depth of engraving
• For a fine mark, turn the stroke adjustment dial anti-
clockwise to position '1'
• For a deeper, thicker mark turn the stroke adjustment dial
clockwise towards position '5'
Note: It is recommended that you practice on a piece of scrap
first to determine the depth you require for a particular material

Operation

WARNING: Always wear safety glasses when using this tool.
• The GMC engraver can be used to permanently mark metal,
glass, plastic, wood, ceramics and other materials
1. Remove the engraving tip cover
2. Connect the tool to the
power supply
3. Holding the engraver firmly,
press 'I' on the ON/Off Switch
(3) to switch on the engraver
4. Hold the engraver at an angle
in one hand, as you would hold
a pen
5. Using light pressure, guide the
tip over the work to be completed
6. To turn the tool off, press 'O' on the on/off switch
7. Replace the cover on the engraving tip when finished

Maintenance

WARNING: Always disconnect from power supply before
carrying out any maintenance/cleaning.
Cleaning
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause
internal parts to wear quickly, and shorten the machine's
service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft
brush, or dry cloth. If available, use clean, dry, compressed
air to blow through the ventilation holes

Storage

• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the
reach of children

Disposal

Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of
power tools that are no longer functional and are not viable
for repair.
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and
electronic equipment, with household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information
on the correct way to dispose of tools
