The unit will reset automatically when the DC input voltage rises to 11.5V ± 0.3V or high-
er for PST-600-12 / PST-1000-12 or to 23V ± 0.5V or higher for PST-600-24 / PST-1000-24.
10.4 HIGH DC INPUT VOLTAGE SHUTDOWN
If the voltage at the DC input terminals rises to 16.5V or higher for PST-600-12 / PST-
1000-12 or, to 33V or higher for PST-600-24 / PST-1000-24, the AC output voltage will be
shut down temporarily. Buzzer alarm will be sounded. The Green LED marked "POWER"
(2, Fig 6.1) will remain lighted. The Green indicator light on the GFCI will be OFF. The
unit will be reset automatically when the voltage drops down to < 16.5V for PST-600-12
/ PST-1000-12 or to 33V for PST-600-24 / PST-1000-24.
10.5 OVER-TEMPERATURE SHUT DOWN
In case of failure of the cooling fan or in the case of inadequate heat removal due to
higher ambient temperatures / insufficient air exchange, the temperature inside the
unit will increase. The temperature of a critical hot spot inside the inverter is monitored,
and at 90°C ± 5°C, the AC output of the inverter is shut down temporarily. Buzzer alarm
will be sounded. The Green LED marked "POWER" (2, Fig 6.1) will remain lighted. The
Green indication light on the GFCI will be OFF.
The unit will automatically reset after the hot spot has cooled down to 65°C ± 5°C.
10.6 GROUND FAULT / LEAKAGE PROTECTION
AC Output is supplied through NEMA5-20R GFCI Duplex Receptacle (5, Fig 6.1). The GFCI
will trip if there is 5 to 6 mA leakage / Ground fault on the load side or, if Neutral and
Ground are bonded on the load side. When tripped, the Green LED indication will be
switched Off. Remove the cause of tripping. Switch ON the inverter if Off and then,
press the "Reset Button" on the GFCI to reset (GFCI will not reset if the inverter is OFF
and there is no AC volatge on the internal Line Side of the GFCI).
10.7 INTERNAL DC SIDE FUSES
The following DC side fuses have been provided for internal protection of the DC input
side. The fuses are 32V, Automotive Type Blade Fuses, Type "ATO" by Littel Fuse or
equivalent:
PST-600-12: 2 pieces of 40A in parallel = 80A total
PST-600-24: 2 pieces of 20A in parallel = 40A total
PST-1000-12: 4 pieces of 40A in parallel = 160A total
PST-1000-24: 4 pieces of 20A in parallel = 80A total
NOTE: The fuses are installed in fuse Holders. Hence, these can be removed and re-
placed easily.
