6. Assembly and operation

Illustrations for the layout and operation, see page 5.
After delivery and before each use examine the condition of the
ladder, the function of all parts must be ensured.
6.1 Setting up and storing the ladder:
1. When setting up the ladder pay attention to the entire
secured opening of both ladder parts. Avoid incorrect
placement of the ladder.
Lock the platform [F] additionally by applying slight pressure
with your hand; the platform must rest completely and safely.
2. For storage, lift the platform [F] and fold the ladder
together.
The stepladders – Art.-no. 8050-xxx– have a platform lock
[F-1] for safe locking and unlocking. To release, slide in the
platform locking [F-1] lifting platform [F] in the process and
fold the ladder completely together.
The stepladders – Art.-no. 8050-xxx, 8030-xxx– are also
equipped with an extendible safety rail [I].
6.2 Operating the safety rail:
1. Pull out safety rail:
Pull safety [I] rail upwards. The safety rail locks
automatically in the upper position.
2- Inserting safety rail:
First loosen on one side the locking mechanism with the
release button [I -1]. Slide safety rail on this side only as far
as it no longer locks automatically.
3. Loosen safety rail on the other side with the release button
[I-2] and slide it completely in.
