6 MAINTENANCE

6.1

Routine maintenance

Tools to be repaired must be taken to an Authorized Service Center. The use of original parts only keeps the
tool safe and in good condition.
Switch off the battery and disconnect the tool before checking, repairing or cleaning it or carrying out
maintenance operations to avoid any risk of unexpected tool operating.
Please wear protective gloves before any operation concerning the blades. Frequent controls of the tool will
make it safe and reliable.
Do not spray the tool or put it into water, since this could cause an internal short circuit.
Keep motor ventilation devices and handgrip clean. Use a cloth to clean the tool. Do not use any cleansers, since
they could damage the parts surphaces.
Clean the blades after every use and protect them by means oil or adequate sprays.
6.2

Blade sharpening

Sharpening is a very important operation to keep the blades in good condition and to guarantee their long life span.
The tool is supplied with a sharpening stone.
Always check that the blade is in good condition before starting work. The frequency of sharpening depends on the
kind of wood to cut (hardness and diameter) and the work frequency.
The blade sharpening must be checked frequently during the initial period of use to determine the adequate
sharpening frequency (check every 15 minutes to calculate the frequency).
6.3

Worm screw greasing

This operation has to be performed each 3-4 working days to ensure the right life span of the tool.
Use the grease supplied inside the tool box or NLGI 2 class lithium soap grease.
While the tool is connected to the battery, open the blades by pulling the trigger (1), then switch off the battery and
remove the cable (2):
Remove the trigger protection by unscrewing the fixing screw (3). Disengage the protection first from the rear side
(4) and then from the front side (5):
