Note: The MAC address is printed on the underside
of the Adapter. You need this address when you
configure the printer settings.
Printing a Test Label
After the LED turns off, print a test label to make sure that the
Adapter is working. The test label information includes the
Adapter's current IP address and some network statistics.
To print a test label
1 Insert a small, straightened paper clip into the Test button.
2 Press and release the button. The printer prints one label with
the current Ethernet and network settings of the adapter.
Getting the IP Address
If your network supports DHCP, the Adapter automatically
connects to the server and obtains its TCP/IP settings, including
an IP address.
You can use ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) to assign an IP
address to the adapter if your network does not use DHCP or if
you want to configure a static IP address.
To download the IP address using a Windows-based PC
1 Open a command prompt (MS-DOS
2 Type the following:
arp -s nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn nn-nn-nn-nn-nn-nn
ping nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
arp -d nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
where:
nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
nn-nn-nn-nn-nn-nn
When you execute the
time, you may experience a longer than usual response
time.
