7 — 3 ANCHORAGE POINT
To be used with anchorage devices conforming to EN 795 standard. Check that the anchorage point system:
• is compliant to EN795 or has a breaking strength higher than 12kN if it's a structural anchor or part of the
structure (e.g. wall, post, steel beam...)
• is situated above the operator
• best suits the anchoring system
• does not present sharp edge
7 — 4 MINIMUM WORKING HEIGHT
Before using RG300 Automatic Rope Grab check a minimum space clearance below the user's feet as necessary,
to prevent any collision with the structure.(Fig. 5)
For allowed minimum clearance see the table below:
Designation EN
RG300 with anchorage line 5m
RG300 with anchorage line 10m
RG300 with anchorage line 15m
RG300 with anchorage line 20m
RG300 with anchorage line 25m
RG300 with anchorage line 30m
RG300 with anchorage line 40m
RG300 with anchorage line 50m
7 — 5 HORIZONTAL USE
RG300 Automatic Rope Grab has been successfully tested for horizontal use and possible simulated fall over an
edge. A steel bar with a radius of 0.5 mm with no burs was used in these tests. Based on this test, the equipment
is suitable for use over edges such as rolled steel profiles, wooden beams or clad, and rounded proof parapet.
The following must be considered for horizontal or oblique use where there is a risk of falling over an edge:
• If the risk assessment carried out before the start of work shows that the fall edge radius is smaller than 0.5 mm
and/or burry edge, then precautions must be taken before commencing work to rule out the risk of falling over
the edge or an edge protection should be mounted before the start of work or you should contact the manu-
facturer.
• The anchor point for the flexible anchorage line may not be below the user's stand level.
• The deflection at the edge (measured between the two legs of the fastener / flexible anchorage line) must be
at least 90°.
• The partial system must always be used in such a way that there is no slack in the rope. The length may only be
adjusted if the user is not moving in the direction of the fall edge.
• To prevent a pendulum fall, the working area and lateral movements from the median axis on both sides should
be limited in each case to a max. of 1.50m. In other cases, no individual anchor points should be used but rather
a Class C or D anchor device pursuant to EN 795:2012.
• Note: If the partial system is used with a type C anchor device pursuant to EN 795:2012 with a horizontal
flexible anchorage line, the deflection of the anchor device must also be considered when determining the nec-
essary clearance beneath the user. Pay attention to the details in the instructions of use of the anchor device.
• Note: After a fall over an edge there is a risk of injuries during capture if the falling person collides against parts
of the building or the construction.
• Special rescue measures are to be stipulated and trained in the event of a fall over an edge.

PERIODIC INSPECTION

This equipment must be inspected at least once a year. A competent person, properly trained and qualified, must
inspect this equipment in compliance with these instructions and appropriate details of the inspection must be
recorded.
At each periodic inspection, complete the form Appendix number V and attach a new inspection label with the
next inspection date. The frequency of examination shall be increased according to the applicable regulations.
Warranty is void if periodic inspections are not performed and tracked as described above.
