2.7. Using the "listener" listening mode

It is possible to use a device in listening mode only. The device can then only receive and
hear communications exchanged between the other devices in the conference. It will not be
possible to hear the user.
IMPORTANT
The listening mode can only function if the user took part in the encryption operation.
The listening mode functions only when at least 2 devices (01 and another one) are in
conference mode.
Procedure:
On the home screen, press the "Menu" key until the User MENU is displayed.
Using the "+" or "-" keys, access the Role sub-menu (role setting). Press "OK" to vali-
date your choice.
Select Listener from the list proposed, using the "+" or "-" keys.
Press "OK" to validate your choice.

Options Menu

The three functions described below in the Options menu are available in all the Vokkero
Evolution 3 versions.
3.1. «Class 2 channels» channels
IMPORTANT: Before using the device, please observe the legal provisions in force in your
country. Please refer to «Restrictions of usage» at the end of this document. These res-
trictions apply to countries listed in the table. If a country does not appear in the table, the
following informations must be considered.
You can parameterise the Vokkero terminal on 6 different channels which have been separa-
ted into 2 different groups:
* EC channels, authorized in all European Community countries, and which are known as
class 1 channels (used throughout the European community - Harmonized Standards - Har-
monized Frequencies). No restictions in EEC for the use of these channels.
* Class 2 ! channels require prior authorisation before they are used. It is the user's
responsibility to obtain information from the competent authorities in the country where the
system will be used in order to fi nd out what channel he or she is authorized to use. Most of
the time using these channels will require a licence or a temporary licence.

Note : By default, the terminal starts up on a Class 1 channel setting (CE1, CE2, CE3)
unless the Class 2 channels option has been selected previously.
