The TDA-603 offers both a high end trim and low end trim feature.
The high end trim feature allows for potentially higher energy savings. You can use a high end trim setting to reduce the maximum
brightness of the lamp in intervals of approximately 2% with a maximum savings of approximately 25% when the dimmer is set to full
brightness.
The low end trim allows for calibration of the dimmer to account for variations in loads. This feature will compensate if the lamp turns off
or is flickering when completely dimmed.
Follow the steps below to program the high and low end trims.
To enter Programming Mode:
1. Activate the air gap switch by pressing the bottom of the paddle until it clicks into place.
All the LEDs will turn off, indicating that the air gap has been activated.
2. Press the top of the rocker to release the air gap and return to normal operation.
3. Within 3 seconds press and hold the bottom of the paddle until the load status LED starts to flash.
4. Let go of the rocker.
To set the low end trim:
1. Tap the bottom of the paddle. The bottom light level LED should start to blink.
2. To change the low end trim tap the top of the paddle.
The bottom light level will increase in brightness with the first two taps of the top of the paddle. The third tap
of the paddle will illuminate the second light level LED.
3. Continue to tap the top of the paddle until the desired low end trim is set.
4. Once the low end trim is set, press and hold the top of the paddle until the top light level LED is blinking. Now
you can set the high end trim.
To set the high end trim:
1. Tap the bottom of paddle. The light level LED will start to decrease in brightness. Each time you tap the
bottom of the paddle you are increasing the energy savings by approximately 2%.
2. Continue to tap the bottom of the paddle until the desired high end trim is set.
To exit out of Programming Mode:
1. Activate the air gap switch by pressing the bottom of the paddle until it clicks into place.
2. Release the air gap switch.
If you wish to make additional changes to the high end or low end repeat the above steps.
In a multilocation circuit with one or more multilocation remotes, the dimmer works, but the multilocation
remotes do not function:
• This condition would exist if the LINE and LOAD connections are reversed. Check to make sure the connections are correctly
terminated at the dimmer.
• The remotes require a ground connection. Check to make sure the ground wires are securely connected.
The light level changes without pressing any switches, or the dimmer does not respond when I press its switch.
• There may be a problem with the traveler wire. Remove power from the circuit. Disconnect all traveler wires from the dimmer's
remote terminals. Restore power. If the dimmer not operates the load properly, the problem is the traveler wire. It may be too long or
may be shorted to another conductor.
I turned the load on (by tapping the top of the paddle), but lights did not turn on, or turned off by themselves after
a brief time, and the Load Status LED and Light Level LEDs are alternating dim/bright at 1Hz.
• The dimmer has detected an overload condition (a load larger than the dimmer's rated load capacity, including possibly a short-
circuit) and has turned off the load output. Tap the bottom of the paddle to turn the dimmer off and cancel this error, then use the air
gap switch to open the load circuit and check the wiring. If a wiring error is evident, disconnect power to the device by switching the
circuit breaker OFF, fix the wiring error, then switch power back ON.
While the dimmer is operating at a non-zero level, the Load Status LED is alternating dim/bright at 1 Hz, but the
Light Level LEDs are at a constant level of brightness.
• The dimmer has detected a load condition that is too small for reliable operation, including no load (for example, a burned-out
lamp). Verify that the connected load meets the minimum load requirement of the dimmer.
