Techniques of using and managing lithium ion battery
Warning!
• Lithium ion battery must be changed by using the standard charger provided with the product at
the time of purchase. Precautions must be exerised when charging with non-standard charger
as it may become the cause of defect and fire of the product.
• Lithium ion battery must be charged in the temperature range of 0°~40°C and must be used
in the temperature range of -20°C~60°C. Battery may be damaged if it is forcefully charged or
discharged at temperature outside these ranges.
• Lithium ion batery must be stored in locations without long exposure to direct sunlight or
environment with high temperature, and must be charged in safe location without inflamable
substances around the product and charger.
• Lithium ion battery must be charged in location that is not completly sealed, has good ventilation
and dry. Moreover, it must be charged in safe location without inflamable substances around
the product and charger.
• Since dew condensation can occur inside the product due to temperature change when it is
brought inside with warmth from cold outside during winter season, do not charge immediatly.
Wait until the temperature difference has been reduced prior to charging.
• If the protective circuitry of the lithium ion battery has been damaged, there will be generation
of leakage of liquid and odor from the battery. In such case, stop using the product immediatly
and seek technical support and services by contacting the place of purchase.
• Lithium ion battery must be managed carefully to ensure it is not exposed to children or pets.
• You must take precaution against short circuiting or connecting by reversing the polarity of the
terminals of the charging/-discharging section of the lithium ion battery. Moreover, precautions
are needed against excessive external impact or short circuiting since it may be damaged or
exploded.
• If excessive external impact is imparted onto the battery pack assembled with several units of
lithium ion battery and installed on the product, the possibility of ignition increases due to the
damages in the battery from separation and short circuiting of the electrode. Therefore, you
should not be forcibly operating on road with uneven surfaces or perform tricks such as jump or
falling while battery is installed onto the product. If impact has been imparted onto the battery
due to accident, you must inspect battery.
• If lithium ion battery has been submerged in water, stop using the product immediatly and
seek assistanc from the place of purchase. Never connect charger to battery after it has been
submerged in water as there is danger of electrocution.
• Lithium ion battery must never be dismantled arbitrarily and it is prohibited from being
incinerated at the time of disposal. It must be processed by categorizing it as industrial waste
and precautions must be taken to ensure there is no occurence in short circuiting in the terminal
section.
• Lithium ion battery has the characteristic of reduction of discharging performance by more
than 10% if it is charged and sicharged for more than 300 times. If the duration of use of the
battery has become too short due to prolonged use, the battery must be replaced through the
place of purchase.
• Since the energy density of lithium ion battery packs is very high, there is possibility of ignition
if the battery is charged for prolonged period of time while there is occurence of problem
within the battery pack including short circuit, leakage of battery fluid and defectiveness etc.
Therefore, charging indoor for prolonged period of time when there is no one around or during
sleep in th night must be avoided. It is possible to prevent the risk of fire only when charged
outdoor with someone being aware of the charging of the battery.
