B. HOW TO USE IT
1) BATTERY BACKUP
This unit has a backup battery facility, which provides power in the event of a power cut.
Remove battery door.
Insert 2* LR03/AAA batteries ( not included ) with the correct polarity
Refit the battery door.
If there is a power failure, the time setting, alarm setting and all the memory setting
will maintain due to the DC power supply by the battery. The LED display will not be
illuminated to save power. After AC power resumes, the unit can function properly
immediately according to the setting before the power failure.
Note: When you are not going to use the unit for a long period of time, disconnect the AC cord
from AC outlet and remove the battery.
2) INSTALLATION
Please check carefully that the voltage indicated on your set corresponds to the voltage of
your local area.
Plug the AC/DC adaptor into the standard household electrical socket. Your alarm-clock is
ready to work.
3) TIME SETTING
1. When the device is plugged, a beep sounds and "0:00" appears and flashes on the screen.
2. This alarm clock is designed for automatic radio signal time setting in European countries
within a radius of approximately 1500kms of the radio transmitter located in Germany near
Frankfurt. Daylight saving time and winter time are also done automatically. Everything is
controlled by the radio signal. The signal is picked up by waking up several times a day. The
device starts the search for the DCF signal automatically after it is put into service. This can
last from a few minutes to a few hours. Do not hesitate to change the position of the device
for the first reception of the signal. The device automatically adjusts to this signal several times
a day.
3. For the duration of the signal search, the brightness of the screen is down, once the signal
is picked up, the time appears in normal brightness.
Manual time setting: If you want to change the time manually, press the MODE button for at
least 3 seconds.
- The time zone indicator starts to flash. Press the DOWN or UP button to set the correct time
zone (-12 to 12) and confirm your choice by pressing the MODE button.
- The time format starts to flash. Press the DOWN or UP button to select the 12-hour or 24-
hour format as you like, and confirm your choice by pressing the MODE button.
- The time display starts to flash. By pressing the DOWN or UP button, you can set the time.
Press the MODE button to confirm the entry.
- The minute indicator flashes. By pressing the DOWN or UP button you can set the minutes
precisely. Press the MODE button again to confirm the entry.
4) OPERATING THE FM RADIO
1. Press the SNOOZE button for at least 3 to 5 seconds to turn on the radio. Set the volume
by pressing the VOL+ to increase it or VOL- to decrease. The screen shows the volume from 0
(minimum) to 15 (maximum).
2. Press DOWN or UP to adjust the desired radio frequency. Keep pressing DOWN or UP
button for several seconds to get directly to the next station clearly detected by the device.
3. Use the MODE button to change the display : current time/alarm hour/ radio frequency.
4. Press SNOOZE for at least 3 seconds to turn off the radio.
Note: Keep your radio away from other electronic devices, which may cause interference
with the radio.
5) ALARMS SETTING
To set the time of the alarm, the radio must be turned off.
Press the MODE button once, the time of the alarm will appear. (by default the alarm time is
set at 6:00 a.m.).
Press the MODE button for at least 5 seconds, the alarm time flashes. Use the DOWN or UP
buttons to set the desired alarm time. Confirm by pressing the MODE button again.
The minutes flash, use the DOWN or UP keys to set the minutes. Confirm by pressing MODE.
The snooze interval flashes, use the DOWN or UP keys to adjust the desired snooze interval
(from 5 to 60 minutes). Confirm by pressing MODE.
The display is coming back at the current time, the alarm time setting is confirmed.
When you set the alarm time, the alarm is automatically activated. The alarm logo appears on
the screen. If you want to disable the alarm, when you're in normal time view, press the DOWN
button a short time to disable OR reactivate the alarm: the alarm logo then disappears from
the screen.
6) SNOOZE OPERATION (default snooze duration is 5 minutes)
Once the alarm rings, the SNOOZE function can be used to stop the alarm (for the duration of
the chosen interval) and then the alarm rings again.
During the activation of the SNOOZE function, the snooze "Zz" indicator flashes.
To disable SNOOZE, tap any key. You can then see the snooze indicator disappear and the
alarm will no longer ring after the rehearsal period.
If no buttons are pressed during the alarm, the alarm remains on and then goes off 1min after
the alarm time.
Note: The alarm only works when the device is plugged.
