Het Internet Protocol is een communicatie-protocol gebruikt op het Internet (WAN) en andere
computernetwerken. Het IP-systeem vereist minstens een geconfigureerde DT161R Router en twee
DT161 IP-modules. De netwerktopologie kan uitgebreid worden met standaard LAN switches. Zo'n
netwerk wordt een LAN (Local Area Network) of WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) genoemd.
