INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND HANDLING

4.1 Installation


SL 15 and SI 15 pressure regulators are delivered without inlet or outlet connectors.

Install the appropriate inlet connector for the gas to be used on the pressure regulator,
without forgetting to use a gasket. Fit the pressure regulator onto the cylinder.

Install the outlet connector.

Connect the assembly to the utilisation system.

These pressure regulators must be equipped with a filter on the supply system.

4.2 Start up

As the sealing of each pressure regulator has been checked at the factory before the unit is put into
service, it is simply necessary to check the sealing at the connections made during the installation
operations.
NOTE : Before carrying out this inspection, it is necessary to check that the downstream system
is closed (outlet to utilisation system).
4.2.1 Sealing check

Open the valve of the cylinder.

Open the pressure regulator by turning it clockwise.

Check the sealing of the connectors using a leak detector.

If any leaks are found, close the valve of the cylinder and bleed the pipe work.

Check the cleanness of the system at all sealing points, and then retighten the nuts.
4.2.2 Start up the pressure regulator
a) Pressure regulator not equipped with a bleed valve

Slowly and progressively open the gas supply or the valve of the gas cylinder.

If the pressure regulator is configured for two-stage regulation, read the pressure gauge on
the first pressure regulator: it indicates the gas pressure in the cylinder.

Turn the hand wheel of the pressure regulator clockwise until you feel a slight resistance.

From this point, the pressure regulator is ready to regulate the operating pressure.

Set the pressure regulator to the required pressure value (LP pressure gauge).

To stop the gas flow, turn the hand wheel counter clockwise until you no longer feel any
resistance.
b) Pressure regulator equipped with a bleed valve
Check that :

The outlet valve (on the utilisation system) is closed,

The bleed valve is closed,

The pressure regulator hand wheel is unscrewed (counter-clockwise rotation).
