Using the External Display

Refer to Reference Manual "External Display".

Switching the Display

To switch using the keys
Press key + or
A
Click the display mode.

To switch using the display driver
Right-click the desktop, and click [Graphics Properties].

Click [Multiple Displays].

Select the display in [Operating Mode], and click [Apply].

Click [OK].

If necessary, click [General Settings], set the color depth, resolution, etc., and click [OK].

When 2 external displays compatible with analog interface and HDMI1 respectively are connected at the
same time and when [Display] is set to [External Monitor] in the Setup Utility, the display compatible with
HDMI will take priority over the display compatible with analog interface.
NOTE
●
When external displays are connected to both the VGA port and HDMI1 port, if you select [Clone Dis-
plays] or [Extended Desktop], 3 displays are shown for [Primary Display] and [Second Display] respec-
tively under [Multiple Displays]. An HDMI compatible display or analog display are indicated as [Digital
Television] and internal LCD as [Built-in Display].

When switching from the analog display to the internal display, the following message may appear on
the analog display.

Switching the audio output destination while connecting the HDMI
compatible display

Open the Control Panel, and then click [Hardware and Sound] - [Sound].
To open the Control Panel, proceed as follows on the [Start] screen.
1.Right-click any empty location on the Start screen.
2.Click [All Apps] on the toolbar.
3.Click [Control Panel] under "Windows System Tools".
Windows 7
Click (Start) - [Control Panel] - [Hardware and Sound] - [Sound].
Select the audio output destination.

Click [Set Default] and click [OK].

NOTE
●
When connecting an HDMI compatible display without speakers mounted, audio may not be output from
this unit and the HDMI compatible display. Follow the above steps to change the setting so the audio is
output from this unit's speaker.
