CALIBRATING THE pH METER
The special pH sensitive characteristics of the glass bulb
decrease as the probe bulb ages. This means that the
potential transmitted by the probe changes. In order to correct
this, it is necessary to calibrate the meter at least once a
month. The best results will be obtained if the following
procedure is followed:
x rinse the probe in demineralized water and wipe with a
tissue
x place the probe in the pH 7 buffer fluid and stir slightly
x set the temperature of the buffer solution and wait 1 minute
x adjust the, display to 7.00
x rinse the probe in demineralized water and wipe with a
tissue
x place the probe in the ph 4 buffer fluid and stir slightly
x wait 1 minute
x adjust the display to 4.00
x rinse the probe in demineralized water
x rinse holder with a little PROBECARE , pour this away
and refill the holder
The pH meter is now ready for
the next measurement. We
recommend renewing the
demineralized water after each
calibration process. If the meter
can no longer be calibrated and
cleaning the probe brings about no
improvement then it is necessary to
replace the probe.
