TROUBLESHOOTING

The table includes some of the most common problems, their causes and remedies.
PROBLEM
The chuck does not
remain attached to the
spindle
Excessive noise or
vibration
Perforated holes have
excessive burrs or
splinters.
Overheating of the
drill bit.
The drill bit adheres to
the workpiece.
Does not drill round
holes
NOTE: If you are unable to resolve the problem, please contact the Official Technical Service.
CAUSE
A. Dirt, grease or oil in the spindle
cone of the chuck.
A. Incorrect belt tension.
B. Dry spindle.
C. Loose spindle pulley .
D. Motor pulley loose.
E. The band is no longer
usable.
A. There is no support under the
workpiece.
B. Drilling bluntly and
incorrectly.
A. Incorrect speed.
B. Cut the support material.
C. Drilling bluntly and
incorrectly.
D. Speed too slow.
A. Cut the filling hole of the
material.
B. Inadequate belt tension.
A. The drill bit is not properly
installed.
B. Blunt drilling.
C. Bent drill bit.
D. Excessive lateral spindle
clearance.
E. Spindle bearings worn.
SOLUTION
A. Clean chuck hole and spindle tip,
then install chuck.
F. Adjust the belt tension.
G. Lubricate the shaft.
H. Check the adjustment of the
pulley retaining nut and tighten if
necessary.

Tighten the set screw on the motor
pulley.
J. Replace belt.
A. Use backing material under the
workpiece.
B. Sharpen the drill bit correctly.
A. Adjust speed to suit drill size and
material hardness. For harder materials,
lubricate the drill bits.
B. Remove the drill bit to remove the
cut material from the slots.
C. Correctly sharpen the drill bit.
D. Apply more pressure to the shaft
handle and allow the drill to
cut.
A. Remove the drill bit frequently to
remove the cut material from the
slots.
B. Adjust the belt tension.
A. Sharpen the drill bit correctly.
B. Replace the drill bit.
C. Adjust the lateral axle
clearance.
D. Replace bearings.
