RIDING INSTRUCTION
The tricycle is
not
a racing bike.
•
Make sure that the parking brake is on before mounting
the tricycle.
•
Do not ride too fast - always keep the tricycle under
control.
•
When making a turn, try to sit up straight, leaning your
body slightly towards the turn.
•
Do not stand up while riding as the tricycle might
wobble.
•
Always go as straight as possible when ascending or
descending a ramp.
•
Avoid cycling up/down curbs and steps.
•
Try not to cycle backwards, unless for the purpose
of stopping, as the coaster brake might block up,
damaging the rear frame.
•
Load the tricycle sensibly, with the heaviest items over
the axles.
•
Strap children securely with the lap belt and the Y belt
for children under two.
MAINTENANCE
The three wheeler requires a minimum of maintenance.
•
Always ensure that the tyres are properly inflated.
•
Do not raise the saddle beyond the maximum extension
mark on the seatpost.
•
Make sure that all the bolts are tightened.
•
Check the wheel spokes once every 4 months – they
may need to be tightened periodically.
•
The chain, cables and other movable parts have to be
oiled and adjusted at least twice a year.
•
All cables have to be inspected for wear at least once a
year.
•
To avoid wear and damage, do not ride with misaligned
gears; remember that dérailleur gears (if applicable)
have to be cleaned and oiled frequently.
•
There should be no looseness in the wheel axles, in the
crank or in the steering bearings – they need to be
checked at least once a year.
•
In case the three wheeler has been in a collision, or
has been severely overloaded, the frame needs to be
checked for fractures and other damage.
•
Damage to the paintwork or the box has to be mended
as soon as possible.
•
Protect the frame and the rims with wax or acid-free oil
twice a year.
•
Polish the box with vegetable oil; if relevant, use car-wax
on lacquered box sides.
