Active Speaker Set
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to operation and keep them for later refer-
ence.
1 Applications / Setting Up
This compact active speaker set is suitable for hi-fi
applications, as a monitoring system in home
recording studios, for AV presentations on a com-
puter or projector and for similar applications in
small rooms.
Each speaker system is equipped with a 13 cm
(5") bass-midrange speaker and a 2.5 cm (1")
tweeter. The left speaker system additionally fea-
tures an amplifier and controls to adjust the volume
and the sound. The amplifier is equipped with pro-
tective circuits to prevent short circuit and over-
heating.
Place the speakers as desired or use the brack-
ets provided to install them on a wall.

2 Safety Notes
The speakers correspond to all relevant directives
of the EU and are therefore marked with
WARNING The active speaker uses dangerous
mains voltage. Leave servicing to
skilled personnel only. Inexpert han-
dling or modification may result in
electric shock.
CAUTION Never adjust the speakers to a very
high volume. Permanent high vol-
umes may damage your hearing!
Your ear will get accustomed to high
volumes which do not seem to be that
high after some time. Therefore, do
not further increase a high volume
after getting used to it.

The speakers are suitable for indoor use only.
Protect them against dripping water and splash
water, high air humidity and heat (admissible
ambient temperature range: 0 – 40 °C).

Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the
units, e. g. a drinking glass.

The heat produced inside the active speaker sys-
tem is dissipated via the cooling fins; therefore,
never cover the cooling fins.

Do not operate the speakers or immediately dis-
connect the mains plug from the socket
1. if the speakers or the mains cable are visibly
damaged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after a unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case, the speakers must be repaired by
skilled personnel.

Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the
plug.

For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
water or chemicals.
G
No guarantee claims for the speakers and no lia-
bility for any resulting personal damage or mate-
rial damage will be accepted if the speakers are
used for other purposes than originally intended,
if they are not correctly connected or operated, if
they are not safely installed or not repaired in an
expert way.
If the speakers are to be put out of opera-
tion definitively, take them to a local recy-
cling plant for a disposal which is not harm-
ful to the environment.
